im sorry if this topic has been brought up before but i may as well give it a shot anyways...

who was your favourite detroit red wings player in your younger days?

mine was im sure alot of peoples favourite: Steve Yzerrman

Feds was my favorite growing up because he was my dad's favorite. :P

I grew to appreciate him seperately of course. And Larionov quickly became a favorite the more I learned about hockey.

I think it goes unstated that I adored Stevie as well, like a lot of people.

hasek (even in buffalo) first followed by lidstrom.

Same with me. I was so freakin happy when I found out Detroit signed Hasek. Almost as happy when I found out Iverson got traded to the Pistons, until I spent the whole season cursing at him and regretting that we gave up Billups for him At least Hasek could help us win the cup, so he's still my favorite. :D

There was periods where I liked Yzerman, then Shanahan, then McCarty. I also liked Bure and Mario Lemieux a whole lot too... For the most part though, my favourite was Stevie, and always will be. The post Yzerman era, my active favourite now is definitely Zetterberg.
