crosby fights

It looked to me like the refs were there to break it up too fast. I don't get why they didn't let them fight. They both wanted to fight, both dropped the gloves. Refs needs to back the f*** up and let 'em go at it. The jersey wasn't over Zidlicky's head until the refs were already there and Crosby had a hold of it. I dunno what the refs are thinking.

There's so many dumb and fail posts here it's insane. Between the "Crysby sucks" s*** to the OP's "protect the golden child" -- uh, what?! He was going to pound the living s*** out of Zidlicky until the idiot refs jumped in and, from the looks of it, took a punch too for doing so. I can understand that there are fans who think Crosby gets way too much league/media attention, but the hilarious league conspiracy s*** involving Crosby or playing down his abilities is pretty sad. He and Ovechkin are the two best players in the league, hands down. I know many fans here are in denial about this and will continue to be, but get used to it. Crosby is not only a complete player but is damn exciting to watch too. The attention he gets from the media and league is warranted, and haters, well, I love sitting here laughing at posts of people who are too afraid of enjoying the skill and edge to the game this guy brings. The Crosby bashing fad was so 2 years ago.

They should have let him pound the living s*** out of someone before they broke it up assuming he was going to pound the living s*** out of someone. I'm still not convinced he could do that, all his other talents notwithstanding.

Lotsa hate in here, wow.

All the greats have gotten themselves into a few fights, it's part of the game, and it shouldn't be surprising. The "he's to good to be fighting, hwat if he breaks a nail or dies!" arguments is lame. Fighting is part ofthe game. Superstars shouldn't be looking for a scraop every shift, but they should be sticking up for themselves when the situation dictates. Crosby was hit in a way that he thought was dangerous, so he sent the message not to do it again.

Stanley Cup Champion and worls class superstar hockey player Sidney Crosby is not doing anything different that what previous superstars like Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Howe and Richard did. Nobody respects a coward who says "I'd totally fight you, dude, but my superstar hands are way too valuable to risk in a fight..."

The refs break it up as soon as Zidlicky starts getting off punches i wonder why? to pretect the leagues golden child maybe?

EPIC F-ING FAIL of a thread.

If people are going to find anything they can to bad mouth Crosby, at least make it something somewhat realistic.

You sir, don't know a hockey fight from the suck hole in the center of your face.

If I'm Zidlicky, i'm probably glad the refs stepped in because pretty much he didn't do anything other than get his jersey yanked over his head and force fed a couple of shots to the noggin.

For the record, the refs tend to jump in quick whenever a guy is at a disadvantage by having his jersey over his head. Probably had very little to do with Crosby. Had nothing to do with "protecting" Crosby. Protecting him from what? Damaging his hands by ontinuing to beat on Zidlicky even longer?

The lengths to which pissed off, immature Red Wings fans will go to turn something out of nothing when it comes to Crosby has reached epic levels of absurdity. You people know who you are and you're a goddamned embarrassment.

They broke it up early but not to save Sid. He was winning. People may bash Crosby and I hated playing against him in the finals but he's unreal. Can not wait to see him with the Maple Leaf on this Feb.

Try watching a Pens game, go get a sandwich when the announcers start drooling, and try to enjoy a good hockey player for once! It's unhealthy to hold this kind of grudge against someone who is going to be rich and successful pretty much his whole life.

They were protecting that soft Euro that slew footed the most complete player in the league. Not to mention Zidlicky wasn't wearing a fight strap and was put into a vulnerable posistion by Crosby because of it. And if you think Crosby lost that fight then you have a lot bigger issues then your completely skewed views on Crosby. By no means is Crosby a good fighter, but he did win that fight.

Nailed it here. I don't like Crosby all that much, but I would be foolish to try and claim he was anywhere close to losing this fight. I only wish the refs let it go longer so Zidlicky could get punished some more for serving up one of the games ugliest, and most cowardly plays - the slew foot.

I enjoyed watching a north american boy take a slew footing euro to the woodshed - even if that player was Crosby.

Crosby looked pretty damn immature out there. He didn't fight because he wanted to, or because he had to. He fought out of pure frustration because he couldn't control his emotions. Also, the push to Zidlickys back at the beginning was completely uncalled for. And if anyone noticed Zidlicky did not even have his gloves off until Crosby started punching, he got them off just in time fo hold on to Cindys jersey.

ok so if he fights he's a wuss and if he doesn't he's a wuss and if he makes contact with the guy during the fight it's completely uncalled for... lol

Not to mention the poster is complaining about Crosby being a cheap fighter, yet has Bob Probert in the sig. Now I love Probbie, but he certainly wasn't a church boy when it came to fights/hockey...

LOL. From the angle I saw it looked like Crosby fought because he wanted to, not because he lost control of his emotions. He squared up with his opponent, they yapped at eachother (as opposed to Crosby loosing his cool and just jumping him) and the fight started organicly by what appeared to be a mutual understanding.

Crosby didn't lose control of himself and do do something childish like throwing a chair on the ice or beating up a girl (Kocur), he doesn't so lack control over his impulses that he gambles and drinks of his money away and blindsides lesser fghters (McCarty), he doesn't run goalies, smuggle coke in his underwear, pull hair or headbut (Probert). He seems like a pretty okay guy in this instance.

Funny how quick you two are to both defend and distract... Not to mention your exaggerations upon what the poster before you said make you both(?) sound like liars.

Rewatch the vid... That hit behind the net, was not a "hey ya wanna fight"... it was "you suck, I hate you". He snapped, like always. I'm not saying this is bad, but it seems to be the trend with him. He doesn't fight unless he gets incredibly frustrated with someone and then looks like a pansy cause he's all flustered.

 Now we're comparing Cathy Lee to Bob Probert? I think I just threw up in my mouth..... yech, yep, I did...

I do believe Datsyuk has "fought" just as many times as Cathy has, yet who was niminated for BOTH the Hart and Selke? Ya,m I think THAT would make someone the most complete player in the league...

Kudos to Cathy Lee for standing up for herself, but, sir, I know Bob Probert, I've met Bob Probert, Bob Probert isn't a friend of mine, but Cathy Lee STILL is no (comparison to) Bob Probert...

You sir, should be tarred and feathered for even making mention of those two in the smae sentence!

Pretty typical LGW stuff. I dont mind any of those guys, but going out of their way to defend Cindy in a Wings forum is strange...
