Uh, English please?

What does 46 have to do with anything?

Ok, I see your assistant that helps you at school didn't get off the short bus with you so I'll explain it to you.

1) You make a sarcastic remark bashing Bertuzzi's goal scoring abilities in a vain attempt to be funny.

2) I counter with the fact that Bertuzzi has the highest single season goal scoring total of the current red wings (46 goals OMFG OMFG OMFG).

3) I then procede to highlight your hypocrisy by joking that Leino, Williams, Filpulla, Cleary, and Eaves combined this year won't score what Bertuzzi has in the past. A slight overstatement, but with these injuries not by much.

But on that team... who else had 30 or even 20. We have had 5 players score 20+ goals each of our last 3-4 years...... thats called depth.. the year Bert scored 46 was a great year for him on a team that had no scoring depth.... he was in the right spot at the right time and did the right things..... that does not make him the best Red Wing on the current roster....

on #3

What a player did in the past....who cares what he DID... I'm more inclined to go with what he is doing.... and to talk about a guy not scoring while he has a broken wrist is just pathetic. as well as a broken leg and separated shoulders..... lets see Bert score more than Zett this year then you have a debate. My Point is dont pick 3 guys that are injured to compare his stats to..that's wrong..

Lets see Bert play more than 40 games this season..... <_< since you want to talk about what he HAS done...

while he's on a roll people will love him.. when he goes back to Clangtuzzi ( which I hope does not happen ) he WILL be bagged on again.

Wow... the reading comprehension of this board has really hit an all time low. Please re-read the posts leading up to mine and take it in context and thentell me where I supposdly insituated the Bertuzzi's past performance was how he should perform now. A poster simply made a comment as if scoring was new to Bertuzzi, and I provided the FACT that in his past he was a more profilic goal scoer than anybody else the Wing's had, insituating that it should not be that surpising (SUPRISING NOT EXPECTED) that he could still score in bunches. Please stop making up garbage like the bolded part

In addition to your failed understanding, your counter arguements are weak and in some cases not true at all. The 2002 Canucks led the league in goals that year, and while were not the most filled out roster, they still had two healthy and growing Sedin twins, Trevor Linden, Jovonoski and Ohlund having relativily good offensive seasons, as well as Andrew Cassels racking up 50 points in 53 games, making them far from a one trick pony.

On the note about the 5 aforementioned players not being able to score more than 46, I have obviously stated that if they were healthy, it would be an overstatement, but not by much, even without injuries. I was simply poinintg this out as most people belive Bertuzzi is useless, a statement which is untrue, as he provides us with some of the best current value on the team.

Won't be getting any smack from me. Clanging it off the post is a sign he's at least working at it, which is enough. Sometimes luck just isn't there,

Perhaps I went a bit overboard, but given the injuries, they may not even pull it off this year.

Perhaps when Filpulla, Cleary and Leino break 46.

Easy to say when filppula is injured for a third of the season, Cleary a month now and Leino is still just a rookie. I'm sure they'd easily get more than 46 goals with an entire season.

And yes, Bert has been great all year despite not scoring, and now that he's got some steam he should be even better.

WOW The stat gathering has really taken a dive here.....

WELL LETS SEE HERE...... In 2002-03 season when Bertuzzi scored his 46 goals... Ohlund played 59 games and had 29 pts.... hardly a offensive force and Andrew Cassels was not even on the team.... so please check your stats again.... the year Cassels had those stats was the year before when Bert netted 36 goals......

And Apparently Im not the only one who.. "Mis-interpreted" your post....

Good Day!

Why are people bringing up Bertuzzi's 2002-03 season?

It's irrelevant.

Why are some people here even breathing?

Doc, I think you're gonna have to check some pulses pretty soon. Seems like we got some corpses posting lately.

I watched the highlights from the Ducks game and the Preds game last night on NHL.COM.This is weird but on both nights the announcers for the Ducks and Preds made a mistake on both overtime goals calling the wrong player. The Ducks announcer said Holmstrom scores and the Preds announcer made the mistake saying it was Zetterberg with the game winning goal.I just thought that was weird.

Just to let ya'll know, I was at the game last night. Got some autographs and about 150 pics from the game. I'm loading them up in Photobucket right now, and they will be posted in the Hottest Wing thread. Feel free to save any of them, but please don't re-post them without giving me a shoutout!

We had an absolute blast at the game. All the Wings fans were terrific. The only rudeness I encountered was the bitchy old lady sitting behind me. She had NO clue what was going on most of the game. :D

Let's sign Wayne Gretzky for $2m then, 92 goals in a season is ridiculous.

You see how your argument breaks down when I take it to an extreme? 02-03 was a different style of hockey, and Bertuzzi is six years older now that he was then, just as Gretzky is 27 years older now than he was when he scored 92.

No, it's not surprising that Bertuzzi scored, and I never said it was.

What's surprising is that he scored four goals in two nights when he had four goals total in 30 games.

Wow, your reading comprehension could really use some work, bro.
