MLive

Jimmy Howard will start in goal, as Red Wings coach Mike Babcock has opted to go with the hot hand rather than Chris Osgood, who is 17-0-0 lifetime against the Lightning

Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom

Leino-Zetterberg-Eaves

Draper-Abdelkader-Miller

May-Newbury-Maltby

Babcock said he wasn't sure how he'll sort out his defense pairings as Doug Janik, recalled Tuesday from Grand Rapids (AHL), replaces the injured Jonathan Ericsson.

Confirmed Helm to sit out, Newbury to play 2nd straight game

WIll also start game with following d-parings:

Lidstrom-Meech

Janik-Rafalski

Lebda-Stuart

*Don't like that the best D-man thus far gets 3rd pair minutes*

As much as it hurts my fantasy team having Howard winning games instead of Ozzie I feel much more confident predicting a win when Howard starts. Hopefully Janik is solid and we dont even notice that Big E is missing.

My Prediction:

Wings 5 - Leino, Newbury, Zetterberg, Bertuzzi, Lidstrom.

Lightning 2 - Stamkos, Lecalvier

Lets Go Wings!

Who is that Konopka guy, apparently he's leading the league in PIM's.

Think he will tilt with May tonight? :fingerscrossed:

It's crazy to think, I was at the game last year in Tampa, and neither team bears much resemblance between last year and this year's models.

The Bolts got off to a hot start this year, and Stamkos is blowing away every one's expectations, but reality is starting to set in and Tampa is back in the bottom of the standings where they belong, and despite our injuries we are starting to pull it together and win the games we are supposed to win, so I predict a 4-1 Wings victory, Janik and May get their first goals of the season, Lidstrom gets of the schnide, and Z gets the empty-netter.

This is a must-win. All the chips fell in our favor last night and this is our chance to begin forging some separation from the rest of the pack looking for 8th seed. There is absolutely no excuse for losing this one. Here's hoping this is a serious confidence boost for what's going to be a very difficult weekend.

Tampa is struggling right now. We have a good chance of going 4 in a row.

Won't be able to watch the game, but I'm predicting a 4-1 Red Wings win. Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Leino and Eaves the scorers.

yup and so were the Oilers until they started their 5 game winning streak with us. <_<
