Jeremy Roenick says "a big fall is ahead for the Red Wings"

In the latest issue of the "Sporting News", Jeremy Roenick says: "They've played way too much hockey in the last five years." (I thought you just played the teams you're supposed to play?) "They're getting tired - the old guys are getting tired. They've lost some players here and there that made them strong. I think their run is coming to an abrupt end."

Anybody know what Jeremy's up to these days? Do we care?

I think that his career will come to an abrupt end without a Stanley Cup.

Oh, wait...

Edit: I like this one too:

Roenick replied, "I'd like to know where Patrick was in Game 3 (a game in which Roenick had scored on Patrick Roy on a similar breakaway); probably up trying to get his jock out of the rafters." Roy retorted, "I cannot really hear what Jeremy says because I've got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ear."

enough to base a whole thread around his opinion

If we aren't able to make the playoffs (which is a very real possibility), I'd say that constitutes as a pretty big fall.

Pretty much exactly how I feel.

Ah yes. Point well taken. Who would know better than you about basing a whole thread on an opinion? That wasn't even yours? But you obviously thought it was hilarious while you were doing it so whatever floats your boat.

Here's an idea. If you don't like a thread, don't respond. It really helps. I've already decided to do that with all your stuff. Bye.

Jeremy might be right, but personally I don't care that he says it any more than a poster here -- Jeremy is just a talking head and at this point his MO is getting in the headlines so he can continue making money post-retirement. Anyhow, eventually those deep playoff runs can take a toll on a team, and it's possible it's why the Wings have so many injury problems, with some bad luck or merely it exclusively being bad luck. It's a tough season for Wings fans, but even then there's still lots of promise this season. This team needed a little adversity instead of coasting into yet another Central division win and 1-3 seed.
