Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Yep, but Rask should have started more games.. he got 10 less wins than Howard, thats why he wont win. Yeah, and he should've deserved more starts. It's kinda easier for coach to bench Osgood than 5M Thomas though.
Icesurfer 75 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 The Stats are now final! It was an exciting year for Wings fans this year to have a Calder candidate for a change and to cheer him on. Because of the Wings drafting position over the past 15 years or so, the Wings don't get flashy players but they get real good solid team players. Let's hope it is not too long before the Wings have another Calder candidate. Congratulations Howie! You have performed better than anyone probably had expected and your future is bright! It was a good race with certainly some surprises and hopefully next year will be just as exciting!
Datsyerberger 279 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 In my opinion, Howard deserves the Calder over Myers, but I'm absolutely cheering for Myers. Recent Red Wings Calder runner-ups: Lidstrom, Fedorov, Zetterberg (among other big names) Recent goalie Calder winners: Raycroft, Mason
Icesurfer 75 Report post Posted April 30, 2010 Out of the Calder Finalist and the Vezina candidates Howie is the only one left standing after the first round!!! Just goes to show you how much the so-called "experts" know. LOL. Myers (D-man playing the most minutes) and Miller could NOT shut down an injured weak scoring Boston team. Boston was second to the last in scoring in the NHL. HA! Shame, shame! LOL. Howie took on Cindy, took on Shane Doan (nice check) and bested Bryzgalov!
