Grand Rapids Griffins Vs Grand Rapids Sled Wings

For any of you that care or are close enough to attend. Tomorrow Tuesday Night January 12 at Belknap Park at Griff's IceHouse the Grand Rapids Griffins will play a Sled Hockey game Vs the Grand Rapids Sled Wings. Doors open at 6PM and the Game is at 7PM Tickets are $5 and you can rent a sled to try to skate for $1 or even challeng a Griffins player to a game of Air or Bubble Hockey for $3. Proceeds go to The Grand Rapids Griffins Youth Foundation and the Grand Rapids Sledwings. The Grand Rapids Sled Wings are a group of people young and old with physical disabilites that play hockey in their own specail way. Now there is a Jr Sled Wings and an Adult Sled Wings; I'm on the Adult team however we are all on program but because the Adult Sled Wings is a brand new team this season not all the Sled Wings will be able to play in the game mostly just the Jr players. The Jr Players are sponsered by the Griffins Youth Foundation and the Adult Sled Wings are sponsered by the Grand Rapids Wheelchair Sports Association. As I said Myself and a few other people are on the Adult team so we may not get to play. There are a few players that are at the age that can be on the Jr and Adult Sled Wings Team. It's for a great cause. Griff's Ice House is the official practice facility of the Grand Rapids Griffins and it's in Belknap Park: 30 Coldbrook St. NE. Grand Rapids Michigan. I urge you all who can and want to attend come on out and support the Griffins and or the Sled Wings. We'd love to see you there. I second the invitation and the recommendation. We took the kids a few years ago and had a fabulous time. The kids got autographs from all the Griffins, had a ride on the sleds, and saw a great game. When we went, Matt Ellis stood by the door and personally thanked everyone for attending and supporting the Sled Wings. Even the wives and girlfriends were there helping out. First class event.

Thanks Owl. Since this is my first year playing for the Sled Wings I never heard about the event until this season, there is a small clip on YouTube just type in Griffins Vs Sled Wings and you'll see about a 2 minute clip of I believe last season's game. I know all of us Sled Wings are really excited and geared up for this game. As I said earlier I'm not sure if I'll be able to play but I'll be on the bench with my Sled Wings Hoddie on if I'm not on the ice helping coach the team. Just look for number 38 that'll be me. It's sure to be a fun great game to see. Hope to see as many of you there as you can.
