i personally would like to see lebda dealt i think he is good offensivly but most times decides to pinch or rush the puck at bad times and to top it off he is soft very few times he will take the body

I want a right handed sniper that loves to shoot. Please. No one on this team can score. We'd probably have to trade one of our young centers to get him, but you've got to give to get. After that I'd like to dump the little defense twins for stay at home types. I'd love to ship Rafalski but that's a pipe dream.

i agree with giving ang getting but if its anyone it has to be abdelkader ...helm is just to good all around ,abdelkader is to but helm has the speed id like to see rafalski stay though because nick Sr. is coming to the end and rafalski will be needed to QB the PP...id like to see meech, lebda, which could happen in the off season because im pretty sure meech, lebda, lidstrom, maltby, holmstrom are all free agents so it will be interesting to see what holland does.

i would like to see the wings get thomas fleischmann back from washington or maybe james neal or loui erikkson from dallas... someone at a reasonable price who can put the puck in net which is why fleischmann would be ideal (******* traded him + a draftpick that ended up being MIKE GREEN for LANGGGGG f***KKKKK)

Yep, trade our fifth or sixth best forward prospect (which Fleischmann was) and a draft pick for the league's leading scorer. Dumb trade right?

ummm lang didnt do s*** for us, st louis lead the league in points that year and where was lang after that season where he was so productive FOR WASHINGTON, NOT DETROIT, he only got us like 5-6 points.... did he ever lead us to the cup? ever have a point per game season for us? yeah that trade was dumb, buddy. fleischmann could really help right now, mike green was one of those draft picks.... lang never accomplished anything or produced when it came down to it.

wheres igor grigorenko? he was probably our number one prospect at that point 5 spots in front of fleischmann.... hes really excelled for us dont you think? better player then fleischmann, thats for sure.

Lang was leading the league in scoring at the time the Wings traded for him. He was great in the playoffs that year and scored some big goals in the '07 playoffs.

Plus, who knows if the Wings would've selected Mike Green with that pick? Do you really think he'd put up the numbers he does in Washington here in Detroit (where, you know, he'd have to play defense)?

Trade Williams and Meech for a strong consistent defense man. I don't believe that the apparent lack of scoring is a really big issue. When we get player back from injuries we will have more forwards then we really need I don't think making a trade for a goal scorer is the right move. We got a pretty steady four lines of forwards who can be pretty defensively responsible minus Williams thats why he should be traded. Howard is consistent in net and Osgood has playoff experience and he historically plays better in the playoffs so we probably want to keep both of them. The 5 top defense men are strong and can get it done. Ericsson has some slip ups but he is still a rookie its to be expected but he need a better defensive partner then Lebda. Thats why I think a trade for William and Meech would be a good trade for a Sheldon Souray or d-man similar to him.

Get Rafalski to waive his NTC, what a waste of 6 million in him, get rid of Lebda, maybe Osgood.. Who we pick up for these guys isnt a huge deal, as long as they're gone.

Mutual shake up for Wings and Bruins. Ericsson for Johnny Boychuk. Comparable players, change of scenery and a fresh start. Gives Detroit a big right hand shot. A somewhat lateral move for both clubs, but sends a message to other players on both teams.

Just get rid of Lebda. That's a start.

Agreed. Lebda has to go. If Lilja can't come back this season, I would like to see a big, stay-at-home defenseman that can kill penalties and play on the third pairing with Ericsson. Essentially, a Lilja replacement that can be somewhat physical and clear the front of the net.

Ideally, a pure goal scorer is the Red Wings most glaring need. However, those players are expensive and will come at a premium. Franzen is like a deadline addition in a sense, although it's a risk to ask him to come back after so long and start scoring goals like he typically does.

how about dumping rafalski and his 6mill contract to the duck for giguere? he has been reported saying he is frustrated with not being a starter so we swap ducks like there old defense man like the wings and we have giguere and howard as a back up ? just a thought

giguere has been to the post season plenty of times and has won a cup.

Giguere makes 6 mill a year, too!!

His skills are declining rapidly and he is not even starting for the Ducks. Let's take a d-man off our top 2 pair and send him to Anaheim for a goalie who is notoriously out of shape, unmotivated, declining in skill and makes THE SAME MONEY.

Do a little research. Or pull your head out of your kiester. Whichever is easier.

Yeah, I'm sure Rafi will waive his no-trade clause to leave his hometown (detroit) and go to a team that is definitely out of the playoffs! lol. Good luck w/ that.

I just don't see a deal happening at the deadline unless it is to clear space and in all likelihood, no one will be moved until free agency starts for playoff depth purposes.

If I had my way I'd package for a scoring winger, rental purposes only:

Lebda+

Meech+

Leino*

Williams**

+ I have trust issues with these dudes.

* Maybe this is kneejerk reaction. 7 points in 42 games, the inability to produce when needed. Work-ethic/entitlement issues.

I don't have blind hatred for the guy and I know that he might develop, but I don't think Leino is what the Red Wings need right now.

** Again, no hatred for the guy. I try to look at the guy for what he's doing now, not what he did his last time around with the team --

He's played only 15 games and has as many points as Leino.

Maybe coming back from injury he'll start to light it up, but maybe he's worth more in a package for another piece of the puzzle.

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi

Franzen-Zetterberg-Cleary

*this dude right here*-Filpulla-Miller

Helm-Draper-Eaves

Maltby

May

Abdelkader

Lidstrom-Rafalski

Kronwall-Stuart

Ericsson-Janik

Kindl / Lilja

Of course, who that proven, scoring winger is for pieces like that... I have no idea.

I think we have to dumb ericsson while his value is kinda high he has had way to manny turnovers, caused to manny mistakes. and why you do you guys all want raffy out of here is a pretty good defencemen just overpaid....

staurt, lebda, meech all make more turnovers then ericcson i think. rafalski not only has a crazy contract he never takes the body always swiping at the puck. dont forget ericsson was drafted as a forward and is still learning i think he needs to stay.

he is showing crazy improvments since he has first come into the league.i just personally think he should stay over some of the other guys (lebda, meech) id rather have kindl and janik up every game but that just me

Agreed!

And don´t forget, that Ericsson was the LAST pick of the 2002 draft!

The turnovers have been really bad, especially th alst game.

For the season:

I saw a video of Joe Corvo on YouTube where he gets attacked by Boris Valabik and turtles. Does he always do that when other players go after him? He seems to throw a pretty good check, so I can't imagine he does. I read he is on the trading block in Carolina and I think he might be worth grabbing before the deadline. I really don't know that much about Corvo except that he scored a hat trick on Ottawa after they traded him and is coming off the IR soon and used to play with Patrick Eaves.

I would trade Stuart in exchange for Corvo and a draft pick. Stuart is younger and I think he might score more for another team as well. Corvo is a combined +39 for his career, Stuart is -11, but other than that Stuart looks better on paper and has been stuck with a lot of teams that haven't made him look great. I think his playstyle just doesn't fit Detroit right now and Corvo fills in a void that Rafalski or Lidstrom might leave later.

ya corvo is good. more of an offensive D but would be a good 2nd-3rd liner. id like to see the wings get a good stay at home D takes the body every chance, god i bet you there thinking why did we waive quincy. but a guy like a young pronger or stevens would be nice to have.
