Well.. this is just bad.. is it just me or is it every time the Wings get a chance to slip into that 8th seed and maybe gain some momentum.. they s*** the bed?.. I was kind of worried this might happen.. get used to grinding games out while everyone is injured and once players start coming back just sit back and rely on the fact that you should just win games now.

the optimist in me says that the Hawks lost a few nights back by blowing a 4 goal lead in the 3rd...

the pesimist in me reminds the optimist in me that 4 goals was our high of the month of December (thanks to empty netters).

We had 2 SOG in that period?

What happened to Babcock's former philosophy of putting pucks on net as much as possible? Now this team keeps economizing shots, hence they get lazy offensively.

They need to go back to what they've done in the past.

3 of the last 4 games now have involved s***ty efforts by the Wings.

This team is headed in the wrong direction.

Is anybody surprised, though? A team that doesn't show up for games 6 and 7 of the SCF isn't going to show up against an Islanders team in mid January.

All I can say is....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

LOL. That seems to be us here every losing game. BTW, we haven't lost yet and we have the talent to still turn it around.

Talent... yes. Will... debatable.

I will give the Islanders props though. Their forecheck this game is insane. That's what is winning the game for them. They deserve to win.

4 fights so far in the first period of the Jackets-Blues game as the Jackets are getting beat bad on the scoreboard 3-0 after the 1st. That game might be worth flipping over to.

Watching Crosby's mustache grow would be more entertaining than this suck-fest.

there's something not right with the team right now. It has nothing to do with how great the Piles are it's how bad the Wings are right now. THis s*** started since the Ducks game and continued through LA and Sharks game even though we won those games we still got outplayed and badly outshot.

Just gonna attack you personally.

Well, in that case you probably should know that I've retired from flame wars.

Since you can't argue anything I said, there's no point talking with you is there?

Howard wasn't the problem tonight (second goal was the only one I could blame him for and I doubt he even saw it), and I don't see any joy in Howard letting in softies (not tonight), the team getting obliterated with Howard in net, or having Howard get pulled.

But I guess when I argue anything against the Howard bandwagon I hate his guts and want to see him fail every game. Come on now.

Just messing with you, Doc.

There is no Howard bandwagon. People would love to jump on Ozzie's bandwagon, but he's been too inconsistent in his play. Howard has been better, which is why people prefer him. Remember, we like short term solutions, and not long-term ones.

I lol'd.

Don't get too upset guys. They're still 3-2 on this roadtrip assuming they lose tonight (a fair assumption).

This kills our momentum but at least they're not on a losing streak. I'm more concerened with how they respond in the 3rd. If they have any pride they'll dump 30 shots on goal.

I feel bad for both goaltenders atm. First, Howard...not his best showing, but the team is playing awful...AWFUL...Not to mention that Babcock hasn't given him much rest. As for Ozzie, I feel bad for the guy just for the fact that he has hardly played. Hardly plays before Chicago game (we get owned but he gets blamed for the loss), then now. Basically it's like: "I know you haven't played for 10 games...your cold, most likely rusty...and our team is getting ******* owned hardcore. Here's your chance, Osgood, to show your stuff! Did I mention that our team cannot play right now?" Basically...he's gonna be picked on here on these forums just because it's Ozzie. Meh.

I wouldn't be suprised if the team moral is at a low atm.

I wasn't looking for a debate. I was just letting you know that you've sounded like a whiny ***** through this entire game. What you do with that information is your business.

There is a bandwagon for any player who is playing well. Helm, May, Osgood, Howard, Bertuzzi, Leino (okay maybe not Leino). Since Howard is one of the few pleasant surprises on the team with the way he is playing it is more of a Howard bandwagon. When the playoffs rolled around the past two years and Osgood was playing well he was getting the admiration. When Conklin was playing well in the regular season last year while Osgood was not Conklin was getting the wagon. Etcetera etcetera etcetera.

first they have to relearn how to shoot again. Every time I hear the announcer say wide, whenever a Wing shoots the puck!

I agree. For the most part, the people here have the mentality of "What have you done for me lately"...not..."What have you done for us in your career."

If we make the play-offs, and Ozzie gets the nod...and takes us to the finals again, you'll see these very same haters wanting him to win the Conn Smythe.

In the end, I agree you ride the hot goalie, but there HAS to be a happy medium. Then you throw Ozzie in there, rusty/cold against a hot team and people will say "I told you so"...I just don't get it.
