Being that I live in two bandwaggon markets, Kings and Ducks. I hate the fans. It's hard to be a supporter of a successful team like Detroit in this market. They love to watch us fail.

Well everyone except Wing's fans want to see us fail. It is the same with everyone wanting to see Canada fail.

I hate how good goalies are now.

Hockey looks more exciting when I watch highlights of old games, where goalies are giving up shots from the blue line that would never go in now.

I hate the butterfly goaltending s***.

Not so sure about this. We're a guaranteed sell out, even for struggling teams. We sell tons of merchandise. The league may prefer to portray as a villian, but they prefer us to be relevant.

thats not exactly what i was referring to. if we are in the fray every year...their is one less team with fans going to playoff games and buying jerseys, therefore not generating a buzz in their market.

a perfect world for the NHL would be different teams every year going to the playoffs.

You can blame that on NBC. NBC doesn't want Canadian teams in the WC because they won't help in the ratings. Of course, the NHL will bow down to NBC and oblige.

Shootout goals SHOULD count as actual goals scored as far as individual stats go. I think it's really dumb that a team can make or break an entire season but it doesn't count towards there totals??? And I don't care about that little "2/10 20%" stat either....That goal won the game but it doesn't actully count?? Lick my balls that's dumb!

4-4 5min.
3-3 4min.
2-2 3 min. 1/2 court touch up
1-1 2 min. 1/2 court touch up
then...and only then, shootout!

adds about 10 minutes to a game overall time.
strategic matchups, skill, endurance, excitement!

the 2-way player shines!

Lately, I gotta go with officiating. Consistently inconsistent and getting increasingly consistent in that regard.

The nets above the boards are also a pet peeve, although I suppose in the grand scheme I understand why they're there and why that's not a bad thing.

The TV deal. Although it doesn't impact me personally in any major way (I typically watch online or at the pub), it definitely hasn't done anything positive in terms of growing the fan base.

There is no way that could possibly work. First of all 1-1 for two minutes would be incredibly tiring, and with only half the ice its a disadvantage to one team if you would even allow line changes. Also, who plays goalie? Bring in some neutral guy? But, maybe you were just joking.

Changes to the game in order to draw more American interest ie: conference/division names, instigator rule, expansion/relocation into questionable markets.

Officiating.

The whole "parity" issue ie: salary cap, and revenue sharing = welfare for teams in markets that won't support their team.

Crappy TV contract - not that it really matters to me personally since I have Center Ice.
