Does that powerplay look different or WHAT?!?!

Homer's my favorite player, but it's been just 1 game. PPs go through hot and cold stretches all the time. Hopefully it's a sign of a hot stretch.

although that's true, it was not just a matter of a hot stretch last night - he was very visibly making a difference on the PP when he was on the ice, not only in the way the Sharks were focused and worried about him (opening up the back end passes and forcing them to collapse down low) but also his work on the puck and redirections, which directly led to our 2nd goal...

Homer is always great on PP's, but he's looked completely useless 5 on 5 all season, including last night.

When Franzen comes back, it might not be a bad idea to demote Homer to one of the lower lines and play him on the PP. He just seems to disappear in 5 on 5 play.

Oh and to answer the OP, yes the PP did look great last night. It'll look even better when Franzen returns, when their options expand. Really, as Lidstrom goes, so does the powerplay. He's finally hitting the net, unlike earlier this year when he was missing everything by about 10 feet.

did you watch the game last night?! he looked great 5-5 and got one of his assists on the 5-5... he's also WAY under-rated on his strength on the puck... holds on to it very well and makes plays... I think he's proven he deserves top line minutes, even at his older age...

Their powerplay is designed to get pucks on the net for deflections and rebounds. This is because of what Holmstrom, Franzen, and Cleary can do in front of the net. It should look better with Holmstrom in there.
