stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Can we PLEASE keep politics off this ******* board?!?! and yes, I used vulgarity, which most of you will note I never use on this board... that is how annoyed I am by the right-wing nutjobs with the ******* Obama comments when it has NO ******* RELEVANCE ON THIS BOARD For the record, this is not directed towards the OP, as his link was actually pretty funny, because of the tagline and the obstruction connotations... this is directed to all the people that take this as an open invite to start making half-assed, ignorant comments because of the door they thought was opened by the link... stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Wow you need to chill the hell out. Hit a sore spot or what??? Get a grip man,. Yes it did and that sore spot is ignorance. This is a RED WINGS MESSAGE BOARD - a board to discuss the Red Wings, NHL and hockey as a whole, not a place for people to spout off about their own personal agenda's and this goes for both ends, liberal and conservative. Furthermore, religion, sexual orientation, racial prejudices, etc, etc... have no place here. This has been an increasing trend on this board lately and never leads to anything but flaming and derailed topics and needs to END NOW.

To be fair there is a board for political discussion I think... or there was a while back. On the other hand, general discussion should be about hockey, hockey and hockey! And sometimes jokes about hockey. 1 stevkrause reacted to this

Exactly, that's 100% my train of thought... if someone wants to discuss politics, more power to them, just do it in the appropriate place. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php/forum/5-water-cooler/ at esteef! on a lighter note, that picture is brilliant! There are boards for politics and everything else under the sun, and this isn't the place for politicizing. Problem is, it allows people to snipe and sidle in with cheapshot comments (I've done it myself where I agreed with the bias) and that's just not fair. And it invariably causes hard feelings which is simply not worth it. Yeah, the OP's point is funny but it's also political, and therefore is out of place. 1 stevkrause reacted to this

It's only political if you believe the OP was trying to make any point other than "he said obstruction just like Therrien did." Just because Obama is in the OP compared to Therrien doesn't mean he is being attacked in any way. Calm down. I would also like to point out Stev responded to a post made IN FEBRUARY. Let it go, guy. stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 Perhaps you need to report the post in question and not throw a hissy fit about it. Everybody wins. This is against the board rules and should be addressed on its own, not by someone having to "report them" I'd rather people just learn to respect the board and the other posters here and follow these rules on their own without a mod having to police them. I'm not, nor have I even been the "run to mommy and daddy and tell on someone" type - I confront things head on.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted October 1, 2010 This is against the board rules and should be addressed on its own, not by someone having to "report them" If you remove the post and warn the poster then you don't have to go on your little "grr I hate politics in general discussion" tirade. I'm not, nor have I even been the "run to mommy and daddy and tell on someone" type - I confront things head on. I'd rather people not ***** about people breaking the rules and instead use the report function like they are supposed to. And to compare using the report function as "running to mommy and daddy to tell on someone" is ridiculously juvenile.

Is it, or is it not, telling on someone, rather than confronting the issue yourself? Also, if I were a mod, this would already have been addressed and this post would have never been made. 1 Vladifan reacted to this

Please don't assume that you know what my state of mind is. 2) I also didn't say that Obama was being attacked because I don't think that was the point. I don't know what the OP's political affiliation is and I don't want to know. 3) Yeah, it was funny but no matter what the point of the OP was, it's political because he brought in a political figure. Fact: When you bring in political personalities it immediately lends itself to cheapshot comments and I see no need for any of us to have to read somebody else's political bulls*** on a thread/board where it should never apply in the first place. GO, WINGS. 1 stevkrause reacted to this
