[Hockey_Canada]

Hey all!

I am an avid Hockey fan and especially and Fantasy Hockey player. I am currently in a serious and in depth Keeper league. Evan McGrath is a prospect of mine, and I was wondering what you guys thought of him. I know the fact that he is 23 and hasn't yet seen a single NHL game is often a red flag, but I also know the the Red Wings organization often let players develop longer in the minors than other teams. Do you think he will ever be a regular NHL player? A top 6 forward? Ever even see NHl action? Any insight you guys can give would be much appreciated.

I've seen him play in a handful of games, nothing stand out - but he's been solid enough.

For what it's worth, Red Wings Central has him outside of the Top 25 Prospects.

I don't see him playing for the Red Wings. I could see him bottom 6 forward for most other clubs if he was willing to take close to league minimum.

McGrath expected to challenge for a spot in the Wings lineup out of camp, and got out to a good start in the AHL when he didn’t. His play fell off rapidly after the first month leading to his freefall down the depth chart. He has battled lately through a groin injury, but has also been a healthy scratch. This could be the end of the line with this organization as more was expected this season.
