His goal tonight was interesting. At first when I saw it I thought it looked a tad lucky. It's probably more about him still getting used to shooting more and me not used to seeing him take those kind of shots and actually landing on net.
I still have not had the chance to watch the game (tivoed it, got a huge subfinal tmrw) but I've noticed the more he relys on his instincts the better he is. He is starting to realise that he isn't Datsyuk and has stopped using these bogus moves that don't work, instead going for his underutiilized shot and utilizing his above average hands (before I felt as if he was overdoing it/forcing it) that feel natural.

Yeah you should watch the game because... well, I don't know about anyone else but to me it looks like he was doing a Datsyukian impression out there the way he was handling the puck at times. He attempted a good amount of shots for his standards. Or at least, it seemed that way; I haven't looked at the stats.
At times it looks really ugly when he's fighting along the boards for the puck. You can tell he's being aggressive but maybe needs to be a little smarter.
Oh and I definitely was not a fan of that sequence of multiple shots from Maxi Pad and then a small shot from behind (surprise, surprise) from Whiny Face.

It's not at the same level obviously but it's one of the reasons why Gustav Nyquist has much more points this year. Some of his assists were just shots on the net that came back out for rebounds.

Yes, it was that damn goodFilppula's goal from the Pens game #2 on ESPN's top-ten plays *******
HankthaTank - Squirrels, they hate to be thrown. / Why is the magical unicorn named Brian... Jedi - I just downloaded the "kids" book, "Go the F--k to Sleep" as narrated by Samuel L. Jackson on my kindle. I am now ready to be a daddy. / *Checks Router* No, I'm positive I didn't hit the "Wings Defense Sucks" button. Electrophile - I'm just glad the Wings were able to win despite the Curse of Brian. ACallToArms - I think Trey needs to put something about payroll tax and deferred income in his sig... Edicius - I'd rather [have] a soundbite of me saying "I like (man sausage)" rather than "I like Crosby".

Yes, it was that damn good
Can't wait until he shoots it with more confidence. It seemed to me that he was just experimenting with that goal. Hopefully soon he will add just a touch of a shooter's mentality where you always think the next one is going in.

That's true. But I think Val always performs at a good level when looking at the basic things. Maybe it's confidence that brings the offense to his game, but skating, playing well defensively and working hard are always there.Confidence is Val's kryptonite. He's a completely different player when he's confident. Zetterberg is the same way. If Val could only even out his game life would be much easier.
LOL. Maybe a little too rough.ammu! saatana mulkku!
"Shoot the puck" = "LAUO HELMINEN LAUOO!!"
That's the correct translation. Also, you can add "Damn it!" to the end which is "Kaksi sekuntia AIKAA!!"
