Six NHL teams -- but not the Red Wings -- will open the 2010-11 season in Europe, the fourth straight year the league will begin play overseas.

The Wings played two games against the Blues in Sweden to start this season.

The Bruins, Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Wild, Coyotes and Sharks will combine to play a total of six games in Europe at the start of next season.

The Hurricanes and Wild will meet in a pair of games in Helsinki on Oct. 7-8; Columbus plays San Jose in Stockholm on Oct. 8-9; and the Bruins and Coyotes face off in Prague on Oct. 9-10.

Glad the Wings aren't apart of it this time. West coast jet lag is one thing. But Europe jet lag is a whole other ball game.

Warning: European jet lag may cause turnovers, inability to score and loss of playoff spot.

don't send the NHL's prized penguins to sell tickets...they need a stong start to the season and gary doesn't want them to have jet lag. atleast the wings aren't going over again.

Given that the Penguins went over last season they wouldn't be on the shortlist for playing in Europe anyway...
