I believe you cannot fight in the olympics, if you do you are suspended.

  1. Match penalty (the player is ejected from the game and another player serves 5 minutes on the penalty bench) for a player who starts fisticuffs.
  2. Minor penalty (2 minutes) for a player who retaliates with a blow or attempted blow.
  3. Game misconduct penalty (ejection from the game) in addition to any other penalties for any player who is the first to intervene in a fight which is already in progress.
  4. Double minor penalty (4 minutes), major penalty + game misconduct penalty (5 minutes and ejection from the game), or match penalty (at the discretion of the referee) for a player who continues the fighting after being told by the referee or a linesman to stop.
  5. Misconduct penalty (cannot play for 10 minutes; the second misconduct penalty in one game means automatic ejection) for a player who intentionally takes off his gloves in a fight.

I hope you guys know this game isn't being aired live, that this is in fact a taped delay.

The Vancouver Oly site has the start time listed as 7:40 pm EST which is when it will air on MSNBC. It is live.

Not according to this article, which was just posted in the "NBC is screwing over hockey fans" thread:

http://cnmnewsnetwork.com/1808/nbc-olympic...da-enthusiasts/

NBC Olympic Hockey Schedule Angers American vs Canada Enthusiasts. NBC has been widely criticized for their Olympic coverage. Today, the icing on the cake is that NBC is tape-delaying the USA vs Canada match, while showing the Russia vs. Czech Republic match live.

Yes, you read that right. The network with American rights to broadcast the Olympics isn’t showing the American hockey game live. Instead, they are going to wait until the game is done and everyone knows the final score because you can check it online – and THEN show us the game.

That article is wrong and from a questionable source. The game is airing live on MSNBC. My source is credible.
