I'm sure there might have been a thread like this is the past but I cannot find it. Just interested to see who your ten favourite Red Wings of all time are. Its pretty hard to narrow it down to ten. Mine are as follows:

1) Steve Yzerman
2) Sergei Fedorov
3) Henrik Zetterberg
4) Vladamir Konstantinov
5) Chris Osgood
6) Bob Probert
7) Nicklas Lidstrom
8) Grind Line (Draper if I had to pick one)
9) Tomas Holmstrom
10) Dino Ciccarelli

It's too difficult for me to pick 10 and try and rank them, so here's my top 4 in order:

1. Yzerman
2. McCarty
3. Shanahan
4. Lindsay

My other favorites include (in no order):

Holmstrom, Maltby, Draper, Osgood, Chelios, Lapointe, Franzen, Zetterberg, Helm, Howe, and Leswick.

I was born in 1976, so never saw Lindsay, Howe, and Leswick play, but would have been a big fan of the 3 of them for sure!

Oh this is not easy...

Pavel Datsyuk
Dino Ciccerelli (my apologies if I spelled it wrong)
Aaron Downey
Andreas Lilja
Valtteri Filppula
Gordie Howe
Steve Yzerman
Igor Larionov
Tomas Holmstrom
Darryl Bootland (Sue me - I always had a soft spot for Booter)

The order is subjective, but Pavel is on top. That is not a question.

I guess any list would have to consist primarily of players that I've personally watched.

1. Steve Yzerman (surprise!)
2. Pavel Datsyuk (the man is magic)
3. Darren McCarty (for single handedly sparking a great sports rivalry and being a Mo-Town hero)
4. Igor Larionov (Honestly I don't have a specific reason. I just always liked him as a player)
5. Chris Chelios (Best American to play and fun to watch in his prime)
6. Brendan Shanahan (Man I miss hearing the Irish jig)
7. Chris Osgood (Class act all the way)
8. Dominik Hasek (He was frustrating as hell sometimes but in the end I look back on his tenure here as good times overall, and pure entertainment to watch)
9. Ted Lindsay (Wished I could have seen him play)
10. Gordie Howe (Same as above, these two were only ranked so low because I've never seen them personally play)

Honorable Mentions: Zetterberg, Helm (Haven't seen anyone work that hard in years), Slava Kozlov, Konstantinov.

I was really excited about the Derian Hatcher signing years ago, too, and I imagine he would have been one of my favorites...you know, if he actually ended up playing.

EDIT: Oh, Pat Verbeek! I have this vivid memory of him taking out someone twice his size right at the faceoff back in 2001 if memory serves. I honestly don't remember much more than that but that alone has reserved a spot in my hall of Wings memories for some reason.

Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.
