P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) Nice for him to do it on home ince. One more and he's tied with Jari Kurri as the leading Finnish goalscorer of all times. NHL.com player profile NHL.com game boxscore A video will naturally be added here later. Game Log (ducks.nhl.com): 0:34 - ANAHEIM GOAL(POWER PLAY) - TEEMU SELANNE - IT'S 600! On the power play, Perry goes hard to the net, but has the puck kicked away by a sprawling Anderson into the middle of the ice. Niedermayer just gets a stick blade on it to tap it to Selanne, who easily deposits it into the open net. The crowd goes absolutely berserk as the entire Anaheim bench pours onto the ice to mob Selanne in the corner. More noise as Selanne heads to the bench but doesn't quite get there as he shoved back onto the ice by Marchant so he can do a quick skate and wave to the crowd as the 600 graphic goes up on the scoreboard. Goosebumps on top of goosebumps. And oh by the way, it's 3-0 Anaheim. Edited March 22, 2010 by P. Marlowe

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 Oh, my gosh... thanks for the video clip. I also could only stomach the Yucks having the Cup because Emu won it. I used to go out to San Jose (on business, but always worked in a game esp. when the Wings were there) back when he was a Shark. You have never met a finer, more accomodating, fan-friendly, just plain nice guy as Teemu, then and now. The video clip showing his wife and kids was great. I remember his little boys (3 of them) just knee high, and he was so sweet with them. Stuart was there in SJ then, too. I was crazy about him as a Shark (and still am as a Wing). I am sure everyone is happy for Teemu, regardless of fan affiliation. Number 8 is truly great!
HockeyTownHouligan 57 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 I never really knew of this guy until we played him in 07 I was too young when he was at his peak.

Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) I didn't realise there is basically only Jagr above him soon. Those numbers he put are unreal though. He ain't even that old yet. Maybe Teemu goes for another year to break that record. Congrats to the Flash! BTW, found this: Selanne's Road to 600 Yes, I was on Ducks homepage. NotTooAbby 71 Report post Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) Growing up as a kid playing street hockey, everyone would pick a "player" to be. Other kids did this right? Yzerman, Fedorov etc. would always be picked by other kids...and we all know you cant be the same guy so I always picked Pavel Bure or Teemu Selanne to be different. And when i played goalied I would be Ron Hextall--classic. Glad to see one of my favorite non-Wing players to be in such an elite group. Congrats to Teemu and hopefully he stays around for a few more years. Love to see him play. Edited March 22, 2010 by NotTooAbby

And when i played goalied I would be Ron Hextall--classic. Of course. It depends on what's going on the game. One time when I was with my friends I found some room through neutral ice and so I tried to skate as fast as I could through it and was like, "Fedorov!" tried a deke and would say, "Yzerman!" but then I would trip and fall over my own skates and be like, "...Draper?" happy for him I love teemu... If only the Wings could steal him away as an offense mentor for Filppula. Selanne might be the only one Fil would listen to if someone were to tell him to shoot more.
