What other teams think of facing us in round 1

Those canuck fans have quite a delusional opinion of their team. I saw one poster say that they could go through Detroit, SJ, Chicago, and Washington to win the cup. Really? LOL. I wouldn't hold much faith that a proven champ like the wings could even pull that off.

The canucks are not a proven playoff team, Luongo is in my opinion overrated, and until the Canucks can prove it, I do not expect them to go very far. They will get to 2nd round at most this year. I would put several teams ahead of them in terms of how good they are. I would bet on SJ, Detroit, Chicago, and even LA to beat vancouver. I think phoenix will be happy to make the playoffs and if they face the wings, will get upset.

And it's funny, I read some of the posts that said "i wonder why Detroit is battling for a playoff spot, we're the better team", by canucks fans.

Well, true, they are much higher in the rankings. But I think we are battling for a playoff spot purely because we had so many injuries most of the season. Look how the wings have played the last 7 games, going 6-0-1, with a full roster that is starting to come together.

I think we'd be at least 4th, battling somewhat with Chicago for the division title, if we had been mostly healthy all season. I mean come on, at one time we had 9 regulars out. That's CRAZY!

Vancouver's better then San Jose and LA - let's not fool ourselves here.

But yeah, every year Canuck fans get a little too excited and love to boast their team up. Last year it was the same s***, especially after the first round sweep against St. Louis.

Detroit and Vancouver would be a great series that could go either way IMO. I also do think Vancouver has a legit chance to win the cup.

I don't think Vancouver has much chance to win the cup. Do damage in the playoffs? Sure. Win a cup? No way. There are too many good teams this year.

I don't think Vancouver is better than SJ. SJ is notorious for choking though, and Vancouver is not a proven playoff team.

As long as our scorers show up, the Wings would be fine against Vancouver. They have Luongo, and that's it. The fans act like he is so great that he can single-handedly carry his team to the Cup. If that's the case then why wasn't he able to do that in previous years? Oh wait...they have Sammy this year. Maybe we should watch out.

Yeah, one guy said Howard is unproven. What has Luongo done? A couple of first round wins, real impressive.

He is still a proven goaltender. Howard has had ZERO playoff experience and it is unknown how well he will perform in that role.

Sometimes I wonder about this board.

Funny what people outside LGW think about Detroit. In Vancouver Canucks forum, there are at least 2 threads about us ... pretty neat to see the fear of fans from other teams. ;)

Vancouver Canucks Forum 1 - Facing the Red Wings

Vancouver Canucks Forum 2 - Uh oh

Can someone change the topic to "What other team's fans think of facing us in round 1". Thanks.

Um what other teams think of you guys? who would want to play datsyuk, Zetterberg, LIdstrom, Raflaski, Holmstrom, etc etc. No one wants to play the wings.

And we will never know who's better until the canucks actually play the Sharks in the playoffs. =p

And about the howard comment, he has never been to the playoffs. Luongo won a gold medal?! Sure, luongo hasn't done so well, but he's one hell of a goaltender.

The only thing important about top seeds now is home-ice advantage.

Nobody here should be shocked anymore when a lower seed "upsets" a top seed because of the NHL standings now and "parity".

Specifically for Detroit's case, we lost to an 8 seed in 2006 against Edmonton and lost in 2003 as a 1 or 2 seed I believe to Anaheim.

Anaheim "upset" San Jose as an 8 seed as another example.
