Damn ... if LA and Colorado wins, we could still be in 8th.
After going on this tear, we could still be in 8th ??!!
The important thing is that we're pulling away from Calgary.

He made some really big saves tonight at the end of the 3rd with the game on the line. All signs point to Howie being able to handle pressure just fine.My biggest worry about having a rookie goaltender as a starter in the playoffs is how he deals with pressure of any and all kinds... Howard has proven since the Olympic break, especially tonight, that he's the guy who can handle it. He's been awesome through our drive to the playoffs, and now we're all but in. Wasn't as exciting as some goalie duels, but both goalies - both teams - had great solid defensive games. If the Wings keep the attitude they've brought in the past week, they should definitely beat Edmonton (finally) on Tuesday.
Go Wings!
Playoffs is a different beast though, but if the team plays good I think Howard will be able to give us the goaltending we need.

Ericsson was good again. All the lines played well. This was a really playoff feeling game.
Does anyone else think Burtuzzi's wrist or shoulder is injured? He refuses to shoot the puck... it's starting to get infuriating again. Someone should slap that man and tell him he's not Pavel Dat-*******-syuk.
Edit:
Actually that's not fair to Pavel-- his hockey sense is excellent and he's willing to shoot when it's the right decision.

+1 ... since the Olympic break, we've had to play like playoff mode to get in and Howie seems to be doing okay with the pressure. I know it will step up another notch but good to see Howie respond. Don't worry, he's got Ozzie mentoring him throughout the playoffs.

Eaves deserves some major credit. He sacrificed himself to throw Rinne off his game.
Eaves is brilliant, his plan worked perfectly.
All Hail Eaves.
LOL Rinne was still laughing his ass off when Kronner took his shot:lol:

Nashville is literally the only team in the NHL I hope the Wings can avoid in the playoffs... they just always give the wings fits.
Hats off of to Trotz, the most underrated coach in the league.
I agree with this 100%
For me, the 'Nucks are right up there too as a team I don't want to face, but the Preds would be the #1 team I for sure would love for them to avoid.
