Oh no!

So what are your superstitions?

Right now I have one that involves not updating the Jimmy Howard Watch Thread or else he won't have a strong following game. Alas I updated earlier and am hoping against all odds that superstitious tics don't actually influence real life.

Seems like one Chicago fan took it seriously.

What a load of crap. The team is young, extremely talented, and is hell of a Cup contender. What else is the mural supposed to depict? Huet letting in a soft 5-hole?

imo, Chicago-ians are already setting up for defeat. This way, if the Hawks do win the cup, it'll be "meh we won". If they don't, however, they'll have the ever so strong "I told you so"

News flash: you should be more concerned about Hoots+Niemi than an ominous depiction of the Stanley Cup behind a ridiculous drawing of Elmer Fu -- err, Toews.

Thank you, Mrs. Quenneville.

Stupid that they would paint a mural of their captain looking like a pig.

Even stupider that they would put him in a mural with the Cup, which he hasn't won.

I suppose they wanted to get across the idea that the team could win a Cup. In Detroit, we just would have put up pics from previous Cup celebrations, but I suppose in Chicago there aren't too many cave paintings left of their last win.

I like to partake in superstitions, but never fully believed in them. With the Wales trophy, it seems that only when the Penguins captain touches it do they win the Cup, so it's interesting how different things affect superstitions.

For me though, it's currently in the form of my Wings hat. 7-0-1 since I started wearing it and a few other lucky events (like a class outside, great weather, apparent additional luck, etc.) Two years ago, we went on 9-game win streaks when I wore it too, but last year it would make us lose so I kept it on the shelf.

Ok folks. Had a chance to drive by there today and check it out. At first I was concerned I missed it, maybe its hard to see, but kept driving on just in case. Sure enough... there it was in all of its splendor. Impossible to miss. I literally nearly caused a violent pile-up because I was laughing so hard that I couldn't see. I regained control of my car and start at the painting in awe.

The mural towers impressively at least eight stories high, Jonathon's nose taking up nearly half of those floors. Folks... pictures do not do this thing justice. It has to be seen in person. Like the grand canyon or the Eiffel tower, this monument is a true spectacle to behold.

Scotty Bowman was on the FAN590 in Toronto today and he says the Olympics have hurt the Black Hawks. 6 of their players played in medal games and look tired, the team hasn't been the same. Plus they're missing two of their top D.

Scotty said too watch out for the Wings. We're rested, everyone is healthy, and he wouldn't be surprised if we win the Cup again.
