Looks like the Red Wings won't be getting a new arena after all: Olympia Entertainment has opted to temporarily move the team to the 12,191-seat Cobo Arena as the club begins renovating Joe Louis Arena during the last quarter of this year. The team will remain there until second half of the 2011-12 season when the renovations are completed.

IMO, this is horrible news -- I was really looking forward to a new facility behind the FOX or in Corktown...

Phew. I was really worried after I read your entire post. I'm definitely glad that it's a joke. I too was really looking forward to a new arena in Detroit.
