Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 Really shocked not to see Lilja there. Though, Homer has been really good for us this year, and when you compare to how he was last year... Not a bad choice either.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 I think we'll see Lilja nominated next year.
crotty99 302 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 (edited) Yes he is definitely not a bad choice. He has had a great season, considering all the games hes missed through injury. I could be wrong but, if he were to win, would this be his first individual award? If thats the case then its quite remarkable when you look at everything he has done for this team over such a long time. He was named to the Swedish All-Star Team in 1996 if you count it as an individual award. Kind of surprised to not see Lilja on there though, I'm hoping he'll get nominated next year. egroen 384 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 Considering the massive punishment Holmstrom has taken throughout his career, maybe this is a bit of a life-time achievement nod? I'm really pulling for him! Truly a warrior! 2 Hockeymom1960 and Jamessss reacted to this
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 7, 2010 Jonas Gustavsson is the Leafs nominee. Those are the only two names I've heard so far for this.

ltgator333 3 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 Considering the massive punishment Holmstrom has taken throughout his career, maybe this is a bit of a life-time achievement nod? I'm really pulling for him! Truly a warrior! Totally agree, but we all know it can't happen. I mean his clip reel would be bare-bones 75% blown crosschecking/roughing calls, and the NHL can't have that now...
crotty99 302 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 From that list i'd think Jonas Gustavsson would be favourite. He had a terrible year with injuries and personal problems. Would love to see holmstrom take it though.
selkie 10 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 Seems like the award has turned into who survived the most gory near-death experience. Anyone on the list take a skate to the neck this year? Because that kind of thing is typically a guaranteed win.
