Datsyuk looked like the best player on the ice

That's it. You are a completely oblivious homer.

There is no way to logically convey anything coherent to you anymore.

And you have an obvious hard on for Hossa. Datsyuk was skating great and killing penalties like always. He didn't get points but he wasnt obviously bad like Hossa was, Hossa looked like s***. Especially for a guy who jumped ship to win a cup he should've played a lot better. The commentators were constantly saying it was the best slump they've ever seen.

Get off Hossa's dick and realize he played awful last year in the playoffs. There is absolutely no way around it.

And no I'm not a homer I'm one of the few here that are usually critical about the wings and don't think Kenny is god.

Hossa played on the PK as well.

I could just as easily say get over your hard on over a 6 million dollar player getting 1 goal in 16 games.

The difference is I understand that injuries are going to effect the performance.

I don't see why it's so difficult to understand that players don't play well when they are playing with an injury compared to being healthy.

Hossa is an example of a guy who gets by on skills in the regular season. Come playoffs when hard work trumps skill, well look what happened.

To say that injury is what caused him to play bad is retarded. He looked bad in the first couple rounds as well. He scored 2 goals in game 2 of the first and second series. Not exactly when he was needed. You can't say that last year he didn't disappear in the playoffs because he did. You go from scoring 40 to being the team scapegoat in the playoffs. He choked hard.

The bottom line is that you have absolutely no idea to what extent that injury hampered his performance. NONE. It could have been excruciating. He certainly looked like it was bothering him and to say if he was on the ice than he wasn't hurt is just stupid. What we do know for a fact is that his injury was serious enough to require surgery. The problem with guys like you is that you need someone to blame last year's loss on, and now that Hossa is conveniently on the Hawks, you add 1 plus 1 in your tiny brain and and heap all your scorn on the guy playing for a rival. Coincidentally, this is what idiot Penguins fans did when Hossa left to come here, and Wings fans rightfully called them crybabies an losers. You're a complete homer and a joke.

Please stop indulging Carman. I am 100% serious when I say that he is ONLY saying all of this stuff in order to get a rise out of you. That is his sole purpose on these forums. He shows up to make people angry. He's a consummate troll. I'm not kidding.

I'm not saying he's a career choker. I'm saying LAST YEAR he choked. Datsyuk looked like the best player on the ice even though he was playing hurt and not scoring last year. The commentators were constantly saying " This is the best slump I've ever seen." Hossa was invisible last year. Sure he's been good in the playoffs before but last year, no he played like s***.

So then you'll agree that Datsyuk was a playoff choker too last year? He only had 9 points in 16 games while Hossa had 15 pts in 23 games and was tied for 4th in overall point production for us in the playoffs. Hossa had the better ppg % in the post season and actually played through his injury while, like I said, STILL being the 4th best point producer on the team even though his shot was affected by his bum shoulder. Can't say the same for Datsyuk who is still worshipped even though his poor performance hurt us more.

Haha listen to you, you've posted for one day and you already know I'm a complete Homer and a joke?

You have no idea how bad his injury was either? Unless youre in the dressing room, but even then you probably wouldn't know because by the way you talk you'd have your lips around his cock the whole time.

I never blamed him completely for the loss, but he played like s***. One of many reasons we lost the series. If your boyfriend would have played like he was even worth half his 7 million dollar salary we woulda won. Lidstrom got surgery during the playoffs, missed 2 games and was back in full form with messed up testicles. Cleary, completely torn groin and a broken bone in his hand, Hossa a sore shoulder where he could skate completely fine but was avoiding contact and playing uninspired. Hossa was injured for the finals, whats your excuse for your boyfriend all the rounds before that?

Hossas the joke not me

Wait I'm the troll?

Yet directly in the post you quoted were references of male genitally and absolutely zero reference to any statistic or respected observational value outside of "Hossa looked like s***"?

Sorry but please actually contribute something to the discussion, I'd love to hear someone actually knowledgeably articulate how they can actually believe that last playoffs, "Hossa was s***", and "Datsyuk looked like the best player on ice".

Hossa's injury was during the regular season, yet his play only dropped off in the playoffs. He didn't look like a 7+ million dollar player.

And your posts have a net rating of like -278. That screams "troll" to me.

IMO, Datsyuk wasn't particularly great last year in the playoffs either. Part of that is injury related, part of it probably not so much. But he wasn't nearly as bad as Hossa. And Datsyuk was dominant the year before in the playoffs, so he gets a little bit of extra leniency for that.

How can Datsyuk's play be injury related yet Hossa's isn't?

There was a severe decline after a hit in the Anaheim series where Hossa really seemed to struggle on his shot.

And if you are give Datsyuk a little leniency for past playoffs then why not give Hossa the same? Considering he put up better numbers and everything?

Because Hossa's injury was much earlier and he was fine until the playoffs. My impression was that he was injured the vast majority of the season with little apparent issue. Or at least he was still good enough that you couldn't tell. Not so much the case with Datsyuk. As for the Anaheim hit, that's pure speculation.

From anything I saw, Datsyuk looked better than Hossa the year before. But also consider, that you're on a Wing's board. You seem to regularly forget this. People are going to be easier on Datsyuk because he performed for them. Hossa performed for the Penguins and specifically not for us.

Are you for real? Hossa was injured toward the end of the regular season and was actually taken off the ice in a stretcher:

He re-injured himself in the series against the Ducks, BEFORE the SC Finals. This really isn't that difficult. Anyone who watched the guy all year could tell that there was something not right with him against Pittsburgh.

I understand that I'm on a Wing board. I just don't get why Wing's fan forget that a 40 goal scorer turned down major long term contracts to play for the Wings. That's all.

What isn't speculation is that his injuries were serious enough to require major surgery. I think it's the Hossa-haters who are the ones speculating as to his condition.

Because every NHL player playing with an injury should be compared to Yzerman?

You know what's cool? Knowing what you're talking about. http://www.mlive.com...and_says_1.html

The TITLE of the article

Marian Hossa's injury didn't occur during playoffs;

And:

Wings general manager Ken Holland said Marian Hossa did not injure his shoulder during the playoffs as indicated in a story in the Chicago Daily Herald. Holland said Hossa had a slightly torn rotator cuff when the Wings signed him on July 2, 2008

So yes, I am for real.

nope. just the so-called "elite" players who want a cup. and if i recall, stevie's injury was a lot worse. to be fair, i don't rightly recall that to be fact. luckily, i was just about to watch the 2002 championship dvd, so i'll check into that.

incidentally, i'm not taking sides on the hossa thing. it was just an observation. i'm not one to make generalizations unless they're humorous in nature...

I was just explaining why some people might have a more favorable view on Datsyuk. If you read the thread, I've never said anything bad about Hossa. In fact, my first response was to you a few posts pu.
