By the way, if Ovechkin had played as many games as Crosby this season he'd have 7 more goals and another 10 more assists.

So that'd be 128pts on the season in the time it took Crosby to get 104 pts. That must sting for you, eh?

Crosby can't even touch Ovechkin when Alex spots him 10 games.

What's your point? That just means that Ovechkin sealed the game 5 times. Haven't you ever heard the saying "it's not how, it's how many"?...Ovechkin was also out 14 games (suspension, injury, etc)

Well I was being sarcastic when I said "carried". Obviously Ovechkin is the main cog in that machine.

When it comes down to who is more valuable, I just think Ovechkin has a major advantage in scoring by playing with elite offensive talent and system when Crosby has Guerin/Dupuis/Kuntiz and a injured Malkin on the PP all year.

What does Guerin/Dupuis/Kunitz/Crosby/Malkin have to do with this thread, or half the threads you post in for that matter? If you think Ovy is where he is largely because of the talent around him, that's fine, but please don't escalate this into another Crosby vs Ovechkin debate. The internet has plenty of them already.

It'll be interesting to see the final result. Ovechkin could still lose out on both the Art Ross and the Richard, depending on Crosby and Sedin's performance in the last few games. It's very possible Ovechkin and Crosby end up in a tie for the Richard. Washington and Vancouver have one game left and Pittsburgh has two. It'll be interesting to see what things look like when it's all said and done.

Also, this is off topic but just a rant: why is Carmen allowed to troll in every thread under the cover of defending one of his or her favorite players? Taken from the site rules: "DON'T incite flame wars by purposely baiting ("trolling") other members into an online flame war. Members caught doing so will be disciplined appropriately." To me, what Carmen is doing is quite obviously against the rules and makes a mockery of potentially interesting and thought provoking discussions. I can't tell you how many threads I enter into to see Carmen derail it right off the get-go. It would be one thing if, whenever Carmen needed to satisfy his or her need for discussion about Crosby he made a separate thread about it, but to derail largely unrelated threads (and not necessarily this one) is just annoying.

This thread I originally posted a snide sarcastic comment that was supposed to point at how Backstrom and Semin are going under the radar when Backstrom is approaching 100 points for the first time in his career and Semin is putting up a crazy amount of goals as well.

After that post someone replied and said I called Ovechkin a piece of crap,I tried to clarify that I believe Ovechkin is clearly the best goal scorer in the league, and that my purpose was to call attention to Backstrom/Semin.

Then someone replied that Backstrom is getting credit and told me I'm wrong to say that Semin is playing with Ovechkin.

I reply that Semin is apart of 30% of Oveckin's points and use a tone similar to the one directed at me.

Then the troll card gets thrown at me and the thread is derailed.

Drake calls me jealous and then I try to talk about my position that Ovechkin's teammates hinder his value in my eyes compared to what another Hart trophy contender has to work with.

I would love to have well thought out posts to respond to and debate whether or not my perspective on a certain subject is skewed or not, it's just unfortunate that the maturity thrown back at me is at the stage of being called a "*****" or "troll" when I'm trying to do is discuss hockey.

He's already been stigmatized on here like no other. If he really cared about constructive discussion and harmless references to his favorite player then he would get a new username so that he can make a fresh start. If not then we all need to learn how to use the ignore feature on LGW.

I love Ovechkin, but Datsyuk would put up nearly the same numbers if he didn't have to play defense either.

You're annoying as hell, but I don't see anything wrong with what you did in this thread. You have a massive complex, but your complex isn't the one I'm seeing in this thread sadly.

And now we are at this again. The worst part of it is that is that I really, really respect Sydney. He is exceptional talent and all... but his fans want him to be involved in everyf****** thread related to hockey. This is where this hate for Crosby starts. The funniest part for me is that I do not really like how Ovechkin plays the game. I think he signlehandedly may ruin Was chances for the Stanley Cup with his selfish plays... but there is no chance to discuss this stuff. At each and every board related to hockey there are these Carmans switching attention to his guy just in the beginning of all discussion.
