I can't believe some of you think Ottawa will win. Take your Haterade-sponsored goggles off. I hate 'em, too, but Ottawa stands little chance.

dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 HAHA! I love these picks with the top seeds all beating the lower ones. One easy one to predict is the Sharks/Avs matchup. Sorry, but Avs in 6. I don't care if its the 1st seed versus the 8th. The Avs have been pretty bad for the last weeks/months. I guess if Anderson finds his mojo again they could pull an upset but in my eyes they're easily the worst playoff team in the West. Too young, overachieved for most of the season and almost ended up missing the playoffs. 1 teebo reacted to this
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I love that in the first Gretzky-less year the Coyotes get a good coach in Tippet and finally make the playoffs in decisive manner.
FedorovMan91 1 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 The Avs had been bad last one month. Although the playoff is unpredictable, I would say small chance for the Avs to beat the Sharks; but I also do not see the Sharks can pass the 2nd round. The Preds have been good this year and although they are 7th, they have been really solid at the end of the year. The Kings have not been good at the late of the season but if they can solve Luongo, I say they may have a chance to pass the first round. For the Wings, if Howard can stay calm, I say the Wings in 6. The Yotes really deserved a playoff this year and they look stronger than the Sharks in my opinion. Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 I'm surprised people are picking the Hawks to not win, or require more than 5 games to beat Nashville. Nashville has never won a road game in the playoffs, and they just don't appear to be an impressive team. In my opinion, none of the bottom 4 other than Detroit are scary at all. It's surprising to me about the Nashville respect though. I think Nashville will be able to stay in the game, but that's about it. Chicago is too fast and has too much offense to lose more than a game. If it goes six i will be shocked. Nashvile isn't winning a game in Chicago either. Also if Nashville were to upset CHicago, I think all of CHicago will collectively set themselves on fire. What a meltdown that would be! Same with SJ. Luongo is totally overrated, but it won't appear that way in the first round. It will in the second though. These playoffs will be fantastic. You seriously have the East being this competitive? Yeah, you know why? Because they all suck and they're playing each other, LOL. If they were playing western teams I'd predict every west team in 5 or less . We all know the Hawks are good this year and may go to the 2nd round but it is just prediction; besides, the Preds may not have offenses but they have good D and goaltending. It is just the fact that the Preds play the hockey not to lose; tough to beat.

Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted April 12, 2010 Four things would need to happen: The Wings beat the Coyotes The Blackhawks beat the Predators The Kings beat the Canucks The Sharks beat the Avalanche That is the only way the Wings and Hawks would meet in the second round. I predict the wings to play the blackhawks second round.
Opie 308 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 Yeah if I were forced to bet on the games I would say Wings, Hawks, Kings, and Sharks would be the winners. I see both Detroit and LA upsetting their opponents. I just don't think Van is built for playoff hockey, and Nas just doesn't have the offense. LA is young and hungry, the Avs are just not good enough to beat the choke artists, that will happen in the second round. Thus Wings Kings in the WCF. From there I got Wings. But then again I would have them winning the cup, I am after all a Wing fan!

Fifey 3 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 1. San Jose 2. Chicago 3. Vancouver 4. Phoenix 5. Detroit 6. Los Angeles 7. Nashville 8. Colorado East: 1. Washington 2. New Jersey 3. Buffalo 4. Pittsburgh 5. Ottawa 6. Boston 7. Philadelphia 8. Montreal WEST: I say Colorado over San Jose in 7 (Jumbo and Nabby are already on the golf course), Nashville over Chicago in 7 (Chicago's only chance is to get early leads. If they play defensive, low scoring games, Rinne will OWN Niemi...or Huet if Q is foolish enough to start him), Vancouver over LA in 5 (LA is still a year away from a deep playoff run), and Detroit over Phoenix in 6 (Yotes goaltending will steal them a couple games, but they don't have the experience or depth to beat a Detroit team that's finally healthy). Vancouver over Colorado and Detroit over Nashville in the second round. Detroit over Vancouver in the Conference Finals. EAST: I say Washington over Montreal in 4 (Won't be pretty or close), New Jersey over Philadelphia in 5 (Goaltending will be the factor, plain and simple), Buffalo over Boston in 5 (Ryan Miller's going to do well this spring), and Ottawa over Pittsburgh in 7 (Hey, I can hope, right? Ottawa is underrated and s***tsburgh might underestimate Brian Elliot who's been great, while Fleury has been average at best lately.) Washington over Ottawa and Buffalo over New Jersey in the second round. Buffalo over Washington in the Conference Finals. Detroit over Buffalo in 7 for the Cup. Chairman Maouth 97 Report post Posted April 12, 2010 San Jose, Vancouver, or Detroit will win the Cup I'd add the Hawks to that. I honestly think one of the top 4 in the west will win it. Any of those 4 against any eastern team should prevail in the finals. The toughest part will be getting out of the west.
