Does anyone know why nhl.com doesnt list him as a rookie? before this season he played three game last season and hes only 26. howard is 26, played more game and over more season yet it has him listed as one.

surely niemi is a rookie right? Anyone know why he wouldnt be??

Guessing his birthday is on the wrong side of the cut-off date for Rookies.

I think the rule is that they have to be less than 26 at the beginning of the season. Niemi was 26 as of August 09, so that's why he isn't considered a rookie.
