titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Is the Datsyuk line trying to be too fancy with the puck and not willing enough to get the ugly goals?
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Is the Datsyuk line trying to be too fancy with the puck and not willing enough to get the ugly goals? That has kinda been my diagnosis for this last stretch of the season heading into the playoffs. Datsyuk is still dominant but Mule has hit a little funk which is understandable after missing so much time. They just seem to be trying too much out there, as opposed to watching Filppula and Zetterberg the other night, they just hounded pucks and got them to the net. Mule needs to keep it simple, get some ugly goals, then when he is rolling the hot hand again he can try the "me vs. the world" stuff we love him for. 1 titanium2 reacted to this
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Franzen's a bit snake bitten right now I think, but it's not like he isn't involved and the Datsyuk line which he is on is stinking up the joint. The line has netted in both games so far and Franzen has two assists/point per game. Of course we want him to rue the goal scoring department but all things considered with his injury and the like, he's doing all right.

I know that was just a fast typing error but that's an odd Freudian slip right there because the last thing we want Franzen to do is to rue the scoring department. We want him to do the exact opposite of that.

titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 17, 2010 Oops, sorry. Well I didn't mean to blame you or anything. I just think those slips are interesting. It happens. Watch, Mule will score twice tomorrow. (Hope, hope).

Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted April 18, 2010 It's Datsyuk. First shift with Z and Franzen gets a goal. Datsyuk is trying to do too much. I think Franzen had the puck for about 12 seconds total tonight.

He has a lot more room in the regular season and so do his teammates. Not so much anymore.

GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 I think Franzen had the puck for about 12 seconds total tonight. That was mostly because he would fumble the puck when he received it or would turn it over after a couple stick-handles. Mule has been terrible this series so far save for 1 shift. Guest Lidstromboli Report post Posted April 19, 2010 that goal was pretty good though. makes it a tiny bit harder for me to hate on him. just a tiny bit
Rick Zombos Ghost 82 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 perhaps he should try shooting, that seems to be a good way to score goals.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 Where's the intensity and the passion, Mule?
titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 19, 2010 Has anyone else noticed that all except for one of Franzen's goals during the regular season were at home? He only had one goal on the road against COL. He did only play 27 games this year but still, talk about home ice advantage.
