clayjoh 3 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 Woot! Something we all agree on. Now if they can just have a talk with Bertuzzi and encourage him to throw his weight around. I'd say the same for Franzen but I doubt he'll ever drop gloves. Almost forgot about Ericsson. Why doesn't he lay the body on more? No kidding Big bert the uber turd was man handled all night he plays like a 12 year old in his first year of contact hockey put him on line 3 and move up Cleary better yet put Bertuzzi on line 6 and Erickson plays like he weighs in at 156 lbs he needs a serious ass reaming from Babcock ... and he's getting PK action last night pathetic I'd put Lebda back in in a heartbeat this Erickson kid appears to be a bit of a failed experiment debate at will

Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted April 15, 2010 I wouldn't be surprised if this was the plan from the very beginning. Williams had been on the roster all year and you couldn't yank him straight away. Draper better step it up too or he could find himself right next to Williams. Guest mindfly Report post Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Great... I also think they should put in May there instead of Draper and play him just 4-5minutes, stir things up, fight Doan (if they would get on the ice at the same time) Edited April 15, 2010 by mindfly

titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 Wow, all Wings fans in agreement? Haha. Maybe. It's such a rare occurrence isn't it? I wonder if there is anyone out there that wants Willy in the lineup. Other than those close to him.
SDavis35 140 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 Excited to see Abs back in. Can't wait to see how he brings it. He has just one job (in my mind) - HIT HIT HIT. If he gets to shoot the puck, all the better, but his main job is to get the energy up and hit. Hit but keep it clean, and we'll take over this series. Guest mindfly Report post Posted April 15, 2010 If everyone just played more physical and won more faceoffs i think wings will be fine because no matter how you look at it wings skill level is far superior to the yotes..just gotta match that physical game of theirs and then follow the game plan after that. 1 55fan reacted to this

I agree, especially about the faceoffs. At least two of those PP goals against could have been prevented by winning a faceoff.

Wings_Toledo 233 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 Babcock probably won't split up the Cleary-Helm-Eaves line, at least right away, but I'd love to see Abdelkader on that line instead of Cleary. Not saying Cleary has played particularly poorly, but just think about the hitting potential with Helm and Abby, and then Eaves can provide some offense from that. BamaWing 37 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 I'll pay Abby's salary if he comes out tomorrow night and lays the **** outta Doan. Doan is really pissing me off this series I heard he posts. ok ok you caught me
Guest mindfly Report post Posted April 15, 2010 What do people say about the line that worked well when they had all the injuries... Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom? Play Cleary-Zetterberg-Franzen? Either way i think it's maybe time to bump bertuzzi to the third line and up with cleary who usually thrives in the playoffs

Either way i think it's maybe time to bump bertuzzi to the third line and up with cleary who usually thrives in the playoffs Cleary hasn't done a ******* thing all season, don't see any reason to move him up now. Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Holmstrom was a good line, but I think using Bert as a screen on the 2nd line is the plan for now. Filppula's softness is making it hard though, he can't hang in the corners. But Bertuzzi turns it over way more than Cleary, and puck possesion is so essential on those top two lines...cleary can hang on to the puck, and let's be honest he was good the last two regular season games, 1+1 and 1+2 or something I think he would get going even better playing with skilled players
NotTooAbby 71 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Thank God!!! Perhaps this is the last time Abby sits, maybe from now on JWill sits in the suite and while Abby earns his keep. LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR!!!! Abdelkader has 152 hits in 50 games, ranking third behind Brad Stuart's 206 in 82 games and Darren Helm's 188 in 75 games. Imagine if he played all 82, was on pace for 245 hits. We need grit, the kind of old school hockey that makes players fear the big hit. Line on Abby's hits in Game 2......... over/under 6 Im taking the over. Edited April 15, 2010 by NotTooAbby
