I cant even count how many teams in the last few years Ive seen try to beat the Wings with physical play.. you cant seriously tell me the team to finally do it is Phoenix?.. Thats just depressing, I dont care how good their season was.

They aren't beating the Wings with physical play. They are hungrier than the Wings right now and it shows. Their passing is more accurate and they are making great plays in the offensive and defensive zone. Oh, and by the way, the Wings should get their shots on net. Wide of the next 5 times this period so far on great chances.

It goes far beyond hitting someone. Any idiot can hit someone else. Its the drive and determination to WANT that puck more than the other guy.

Wings are extremely sloppy and losing battles all over the ice. GOTTA FOCUS. I'm confident they will be MUCH better in the 2nd and 3rd and maybeeee tie it up before the first period ends.

Yeah I actually think that is a big issue. Wings can't play their puck possession game the way they want to with pucks bouncing all over the place. Definitely benefits a grind-it-out team like Phoenix.

Right now I feel like we need something big, momentum changing to turn this around. A Kronwalling, a Franzen run-over-Bryzgalov goal, a Datsyukian jock-strap remover and goal, a magical save by Howard.. ANYTHING.

The Wings are just no hungry out there. We just cannot freaking see the Wings pass go over the center line smoothly. Pheonix is holding every puck now. The physical play is the part of the game but that is not the main reason of we are getting destroyed now. We are not expecting our 3rd line or 4th line scores like the last season; we just want to see our top 2 lines generate well. But what the hell is going on. No one looks hungry and our top 2 lines are playing like garbage.
