Ian Laperriere is a prime reason why Philadelphia blew right though New Jersey.Sacrifices the body at any cost.Hard hitting.Takes face offs. This guy is the real deal.A true team player.Does anyone have the video of the blocked s*** from last night?

Just a beast of a human being.

Anyone having trouble growing a playoff beard should watch that a couple of times, I'm sure one will start to come in.

I saw that one live. Was kinda shocking at first but then I heard that's like the 10th time or something when he's blocked a shot with his face. Did it hit the nose? Some people said at first that he was covering his eye, so that was kinda scary

On TSN, Bob McKenzie said the estimate of stitches was 50 - 60.

The Sporting News has posted a grainy photo from last night's post game interviews here: http://www.sportingn...uck_to_the_face

NHL.com has a full video of the incident, including post game interview here under the Flyers-Devils section on the homepage.

I would rephrase that - one of those guys you hate when he plays your team, and love the rest of the time. I still think that signing him and Betts were such good moves.

I'll bet if that happened in the 1st period, he would've been back later in the game, too.

Hockey players are a different breed.
