AIK'91 22 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 Beautiful goal! That could very well be the difference in this series. Phoenix doesn't really have any high-end skilled players. Also, it's important to note the great pass by Franzen and the effort by Holmstrom before that.
Carman 387 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 Such a great shot, to snipe on a goalie like Byrzgalov that close to the net on the back hand is just amazing. Franzen and Datsyuk really started to play better today(well last game too)
titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 First of all you gotta give props to Homer and Mule for maintaining that puck. Seemed like Datsyuk wasn't even looking. He just shot it.

InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 His wrists are slick. By the time the stick was done moving, the puck had all ready hit twine. I'm hammered, I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. Wings make me feel like partying! 1 WMUsiv1 reacted to this
Hiei 192 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 You go back and look at the last half of that 3rd period. As Howard kept the Wings tied, they kept coming. Notice after Detroit went ahead, look how close into the goal line Bryzfuglien is. When the wings were coming in the last 9 minutes, Bryz lost confidence and just stood on the goal line, but you can't tap dance on a line in 50 lbs of hockey pads for long until it gets blown the f*** up. Wha...? Come on, man. Bryz is a good goaltender. Byfuglien is an idiot.

dropkickshanahans 463 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 I can't get over that pass by Franzen. Just sick. Followed by a sick backhander that beats Bryz glove side only a couple feet out. Just an overall sick play. I love watching Pavel do the double pumpfist too because he knows he did something wonderful.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 Lately he looks like he's been taking celebration advice from Patrick Eaves... I know, it's so weird to see Datsyuk celebrate a goal, it's a nice change of pace, though. He's getting a bit of swagger to him these past few seasons. egroen 384 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 I still wonder how he is not scoring 40-50 goals a year. One of the best wrist shots in the league, IMO.

brett 1,029 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 (edited) franzen might not be scoring but hes spot on with his passes. good hard work great play great finish = success i think dats should experiment with shooting first passing second next season. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 24, 2010 franzen might not be scoring but hes spot on with his passes. Yeah, I've been giving Franzen a lot of grief (much of it deserved) for his performance so far against Phoenix, but maybe part of that is we're used to seeing him finish plays and Datsyuk set up those plays, and now the roles have been reversed in this series. All of Datsyuk's goals have come from really truly brilliant passes from Franzen.

Pav could definitely score 40+ goals if he shot first and asked quest.. I mean passed second.
