are people still glad we kept franzen in stead of going after hossa?

Yes. Hossa almost cost his team the series yesterday - then got lucky and redeemed himself. Before that, Chi-town was ready to run him out of town. And what has Hossa won? imo he almost single handedly cost us a Cup by going AWOL in the finals. Same for Pitt the year before.

I don't know what is wrong with Franzen - he is either hurt or just having a bad POs - but at least he has proven he can show up and win.

This Wings team isn't as good as the 08 or the 09 team. We have a rookie GT who is learning the playoffs on the job. We have an aging defense that is still good, but has lost a step. Our team play is hot or cold - puck po has been lacking for long stretches. And we are playing a pretty good team who is motivated even without their captain.

I like the Wings' chances in game 7. Am a little bit worried about JH's first game 7, but wings seem to play better on the road for some reason... Go Wings!
New season, New start! May the force be with the Wings this time!

You do realize Hossa has less points than Franzen in these playoffs? And that Franzen missed 4 months of the season with a torn ACL and that kind of injury can take a while to fully recover from?

Wings in 7 is what I felt in the pit of my stomach when this series began.

I live in California now and don't have the luxury of going to the games like I used to years ago. The crowd at the Joe is pathetic. It's like a morgue in that place. It's like people forget that the players feed off the energy of the crowd. Spoiled I guess. Used to winning all the time. They cheer when the Wings score and if we make a big hit now and then. But for the most part it's pretty quiet. Watch the crowd at The Staples Center tonight. And for that matter, watch the crowd in Phoenix next game. I, partly, blame the fans at the Joe.

I think Babs saying Wed like to think we are the better team, pretty much sums up a lot of the problems on the ice.

Its great that you think you are the better team guys, that makes me happy.

BUT

Play like the better team and win thef****** games and be the better team.

Thinking your the better team and being the better team are not the same.

This is the attitude that kills this team and its obvious by the way they play half the time.

You do realize Hossa has less points than Franzen in these playoffs? And that Franzen missed 4 months of the season with a torn ACL and that kind of injury can take a while to fully recover from?

You do realize Hossa was out for a huge chunk of the season from shoulder surgery right?

And he pulled the blackhawks out of the fire last nigh too.

Not comparing the two players cuz honestly they are both pretty damn good.

You cant blame Franzens lack of performance this year on his damn knee.

Blame it on the fact we expect way too much out of him because he played way way above his ability the last few playoffs.

No scapegoats here. The entire team needs to play better than tonight. The hungrier more determined team has won every game in this series. The same will be true for game 7. We shall see what happens.

Aside from being a red wings fan, if the Wings lose Game 7, the play-offs will be a lot more uninteresting. San Jose will crush Phoenix. Washington will easily crush Philly, Pittsburgh will likely win against Buffalo/Boston. The only interesting series will be Chicago-Vancouver. Detroit needs to win.

Yup. I will still watch all the hockey. But, I think we are due for an early exit. It is just not our year.

The only reason why they can't lose in the first round is because I will get crap from everyone because they lose to the Coyotes.

For me there's more than one reason, but that's definitely one of them. Anybody but the Coyotes.

Also, I hope the Wings are aware that both Gordie Howe and Brendan Shanahan were at the Joe today. As I see it, Game 7 needs to be a big, butt-kissing apology to both of those guys for how they played today.

Nobody lives forever.
Some things never die.
Like up in the land of ice and snow,
They tell me that a Red Wing always flies.

Everyone saying they played a piss poor game I guess just saw the box score, not the game. Did special teams blow it? yes big time, but to say they played like s*** is ridiculous, they carried the majority of the game and bryzgalov came up huge a few times.
