Someone's not happy with Red Wings fans.....

Just another sour "fan" at the fact that the Yotes could fit their entire fanbase in an elevator.

You should also judge a team based on people who are actually part of the team, not the people who watch them. And if I were to judge the Coyotes on their class? Shane Doan, enough said.

Jealousy. Jealous that Wings have fans all the over the world who are ready to show that they know what the Red Wings are about and have been about. It isn't like 1/3 of the people in the place weren't wings fans paying money in Phoenix to see the game. They should be happy.

All my mind actually sees when I read these posts is "Come on! You have way too many fans and you get 10 times more hard to stash, more difficult to acquire octopi on the ice in our arena than we get silly rubber snakes! Its classless to show that degree of fandom in a place like Phoenix where no one knows we have a hockey team! Its not fair!"

Every team has good and bad fans. Every fan thinks their team's fans are better and more polite than the next team's fans. And as far as West Coast sports fans being the 'most laid back', he must have meant more along the lines of 'Phoenix fans don't care all that much' because....

Not sure exactly what he's complaining about? Octopi tossing is fairly routine in the playoffs if the Wings are doing good/winning. I'm not even close to going into who's fans are better/worse and all the crap, it's a bunch of pointless validating bulls**t, but as long as you aren't hurting people or acting over the top vulgar towards others ruining the fan experience, I don't give a damn what you do.

Actually what he meant was most of Phoenix's fans just started watching hockey a month ago, and stay quiet because they don't know what they are talking about.

The guy you can't quite see in this video is Mike Vallely, he's a rogue cannon - you can't blame a fanbase for him, lol.

These stupid yotes fans are easy to forget about that stupid blog or whatever it was talking about how they need to fight any of the wings fans that they see with an octo and all that..If i remember correctly that whole peice was a classless piece of s*** artical trying to get the fans into classless shenanigans against the wings fans.

I'm amused at all these "Journalists" who come out of the woodwork to defend the honor of their team...who they just found out existed 2 weeks ago.

I've gotten into a few arguments with him on the CoyotesCorner board due to his anti-Red Wing nonsense. He's a wannabe play-by-play guy (hence the username pxpyote) who writes a blog. No big thing.

I like how he calls Detroit fans "classless" and then doesn't even cite specific examples... he just brings up situations that may or may not have happened (except for the octopi, but if you're gonna complain about Detroit Red Wings fans throwing octopi then GET THE f*** OUT OF HOCKEY). hell, he doesn't even say "there were reports of detroit fans doing blah blah blah"

there's a word they use to describe people like this guy... n they made it easy for us cause it's only 4 letters

tool

or ******

or douchebag

or brand-new hockey fan

or somebody who shouldn't have a mouth (or fingers in this case)

A quote from Anthony Perez after a Red Wings-Coyotes game in December 2008:

The Red Wings fans have solidified themselves in my book as "hockey's version of Raider fan." Buncha K-Mart lovin', double-wide livn', Little Ceasar's eatin' fools.

Okay, first of all, making fun of Detroit or Detroiters isn't exactly clever commentary...in fact, I think Detroiters started making fun of Detroit about 20 years before it became as "cool" as it is now.

Second, anyone who has a byline photo that looks like a cameraphone self-photo...not too worried about your credibility...

Third, you could take a handful of fans from ANY fanbase in America and generalize about them based on that small subset. Is life in the worst in the worst parts of L.A. really that much better than the worst parts of Detroit? What is this West Coast fan you're talking about? I'm not going to make of the Phoenix fans in the building b/c they actually showed up in the middle of the desert to watch hockey...but most Phoenix residents are "laid back" because they JUST DON'T CARE.

I'm sure you could've walked around the streets of Tampa Bay in 2004, Anaheim in 2007, or Phoenix...pretty much anytime...and they might not have even known that Phoenix had a professional hockey team, where they played, or how they were doing.

what's classier than categorizing a whole fanbase as unclassy outlaws?

hell, i love detroit more than any city on this continent, and i make fun of it all the time! i see her ruins and dilapidations less as scars, more as beauty marks. any given ruin in brush park is a thousand times more beautiful than any standing "boxfarm" house in all of arizona!!

second bolded, yes its worse than detroit. there are actually still people living there to rob!! whats our population now in the d?

so yeah...totally agree with you here. i'd be bothered, but i tend not to let whining little maggots annoy me much anymore.

i'm from detroit. my skin is thick...

LOL

-The Coyotes were founded in 1972 as the Winnipeg Jets of the World Hockey Association (WHA), joining the NHL in 1979 and moving to Phoenix in 1996

-The practice started April 15, 1952 when Pete and Jerry Cusimano, brothers and storeowners in Detroit's Eastern Market, hurled an octopus into the rink of The Old Red Barn

We've been throwing octopi longer than they've had a team.

Let me get this straight.... A writer in a city whose team is in the playoffs is trashing the other team's fans. This, in the words of Mike Tyson, is ludicrous! I'm absolutely flabbergasted. What is hockey coming to? Take away the traditions, the rivalries, the over-the-top celebrating and douchebag writers and guess what you are left with. That's right...Ping Pong! That guy has a bad case of cranial-rectal inversion, obviously. Maybe he's just f***ed up because he, like everyone else in Dogtown, just realized there is a professional hockey team there, and after searching "hockey" on wikipedia, came to the conclusion that it's the greatest f***in' sport in the universe.

I fart in his general direction...
