I'm not fan for renaming trophies, but I'll make an exception for Ted Lindsay.
I agree!
Or for changing the Messier Leadership Award to the Yzerman Leadership Award.

I doubt it because this is a recognition for his work establishing the NHLPA more than his production as a playerAs much as I like Ted Lindsay, I wonder if this is the start of renaming all the trophies to former players
?
Hart Trophy = Wayne Gretzky Trophy
Norris Trophy = Bobby Orr Trophy
etc.

While I think the idea of renaming the NHL's trophies is completely asinine I do like to see Lindsay get some recognition.
Same. I have mixed feelings about it. Why change it anyways?

Exactly. The award is the one award voted on by the players, so it makes sense to have it named after a player rather than a prime minister.I doubt it because this is a recognition for his work establishing the NHLPA more than his production as a player

"During Robert Lang’s time in Detroit, he caused me anguish. Other times he brought me and my family great joy. Robert Lang occasionally coasts, and spends time searching for the best pane of glass to best view the reflection of his flowing mullet. Other times he is a strong-armed force with the puck. I never knew what to expect from Robert Lang. He is The Enigma. " - A2Y
