Even though we are down 2-0, I don't feel like the Wings are out of the series. With the exception of some ridiculous officiating in the first 2 games, an untimely stick break, and some unlucky bounces, I believe the Wings have been the better team.

Nabokov has looked average at best and Pavelski is the only Shark doing anything. Once we get back to the Joe, and the Wings win game 3, I think we'll start rolling from there. We've faced some serious adversity the first 2 games (Setoguchi diving, Refs being foolish) yet the Wings have nearly pulled off the win in each game.

We're far from done here folks, it'll be a different story come Tuesday night.

Go Wings!

Im over the officiating, bitching and moaning isn't going to change that the Wings are down 2-0 in the series, they will play through it, stick with the team...

GO WINGS!

Sorry, but unless the officiating changes, this series is done. You cannot argue with that.

I agree. We've just had EPIC bad luck and bad reffing. I'm still not half as scared of the Sharks as I was of the Coyotes (yeah, I'll admit it), so despite everything, I'm still feeling positive. Hopping mad, but positive.

The Sharks let us do stuff that the Yotes wouldn't have...it might just be me, but it seems like we can get through into their zone more easily than we could with the Yotes. And like you said, Nabokov isn't any Bryzgalov, and we already beat Breezy, so there you go. Plus, the "oh crap-o-meter" just went to at least 10, maybe 11, and the Wings usually come back and do all kinds of better in the next game when that happens, so I'm not panicking yet. Well, unless the calls keep going like they have been...but that won't make me panic; it'll just put me in the nuthouse.

The series SHOULD be 1-1 right now, maybe even 2-0 Detroit, but the refs weren't having any of it. Granted, some of the calls were legit, still, 17 penalities in 2 games? Something is wrong there.

ya, we can win 2 at home and steal one at the tank. we play them well, its just the refs tilting the ice, so if that stops, i give this team a great chance still. i mean, just shut down pavelski and stop the penalties. both games were 1 goal wins and both games were called terribly, so we arent being outclassed even if we arent playing our best.

We need to play better officiating or not.

Howard can't give up 4 goals again and our faceoffs need to be better. Also, our PK has to be better.

Also, Zetterberg has to start scoring in this series and so does Flip. One good series is not enough.

It isn't over, but we have a lot to work on regardless of the officiating.

I'm sure that the Wings can win this series if the officials become competent.

If the Wings are the victims of horrid officiating another time in this series, I will likely take a very long break from watching hockey.

Honestly, I have never been more angry over a loss than I am tonight. It looked like they had a personal vendetta against the Wings. In two games we have 17 penalites. 17!!!! Are you ******* kidding me!? I don't mind when the wings lose, but when it is blatant incompetence by refs who looked like they had no interests in calling a fair game, I get pretty frustrated. The Wings have been the better team. In game 1, it was a 3 goal outburst in the first ten minutes and a s*** call that led to there game winning goal. Game two, no comment. the Wings should be up 2-0 right now. I have full confidence we can win this series if the refs decide to call a fair game.

we're still going to win the series. its what we do...we find adversity, we face it, we face-wash it!

pavelski isn't "the only shark doing anything", though. plenty of them are diving like the ice isn't frozen!!

that being said, we do need to sort out this faceoff issue, and address a few other minor inconsistencies. but we're coming home to the joe for the next two, and we can sure as hell steal one (at least) in the tank.

i'm burying my officiating concerns, simply because i refuse to believe that the putridity (too much vs.) of tonight could be equalled or made worse. ever...

so yeah, might be another 7 gamer, but we still take the series. we're the wings...its what we do!

I'm the last person to make excuses, but that wasn't even Hockey tonight. I'd even say the last two San Jose penalies wern't even Penalties. NHL should do what The WWF did, and Replace the H with an E. NEL The National Entertainment League. Tonight I didn't see anything that looked like a hockey game. A playoff game none the less. That's the last NEL game I watch this year until the cups on the line. No more playoffs for me.

wings have outplayed them a lot.. eventually we will start capitalizing on our opportunities.

They won 2 at home, so can we, and without the refs helping (save that for game 7 when it matters)

I sure hope Eaves is ready to play in the next game, because if the Refs continue to call penalties left and right on the Wings, they are going to need him.

I hope that the Wings are mad about the outcome of these two games and are ready to take it to the Sharks.

I really want to see a diving call in the next game. Funny how the wings get called for it against phx. If I was a ref and seen how these players are trying to manipulate my calls greatly. I would call the diving s*** and cut off before it came a problem. This is why the NHL will always be at the bottom, and college hockey will be #1 in my eyes. Heck at least in the NBA they made an effort to remove flopping.

Yes officiating was horrible and Sharks fans would argue that they had a bad call against them like the goalie interference but that would be one versus our 4 or some bad calls. Still I agree with the OP and think we have played as good if not better for most of this series and I definitely have hope going home for the next two games. You really aren't in trouble until you lose at home.
