I Respect-ED The Sharks

Given the s***ty officiating last night, I think it was smart hockey. Both teams acknowledged that in games like last night, you cannot give the refs a reason to make a call. At the speed these guy's are moving, if a player get his stick up and around an opposing player, and that player falls/dives he is going to get nicked. ***** all you want, but hooking is a penalty. If the opposing player has such superior position on you that you need to use your stick to try to stay in the play, who are you going to blame?

I just don't understand where you guys are going with all this?

I'm lost. Your post jumped around from situations that aren't even specific enough for me to comment on from the game.

The Sharks are diving. A lot. I don't know where we are going with it either besides expressing our frustration, but hopefully the refs will try a new direction in game 3.

Not most. Maybe the band wagon fans, but the true fans know we still have two wins to win. Which is going to be the hardest. Most Shark fans I have talked too, think the series will be tied going to game 5. Maybe the Shark fans you have talked too are overly confident, but i'm not.

DITTO.

To steal a phrase from the great Yogi, this is deja vu all over again.

Overconfident? That was then. And then before that. Not now.

Newsflash... The HP pavilions Ice was very bad. there was an eagles concert the night before. i don't think they were diving but more slipping on bad ice.

Sorry pal, not buying that load of bulls***. I've been to San Jose during this time of year. Yes, you're a Southern/warmer climate team and it's harder to have great ice (I know the Joe gets high marks, but we have the advantage of being in a Northern climate), but the Eagles concert the night before wouldn't make Nabby and the rest of the Sharks team fall at the slightest breeze. The ONLY way I would buy your excuse is if the entire Sharks club was actually AT the Eagles concert toking it up with the rest of the fans

I think it's time to suck it up and face adversity. What has happened has happened but complaining about it won't change the results of the previous games. Stressing over this stuff isn't worth it.

Just need our guys to step up and lead us out of this round in winning fashion.

I agree with this. The Sharks aren't usually divers at all. But When Seto dove in game and the refs didn't call it, the Sharks will dive until they get called. THe refs hasn't called anything, so they will keep diving unitl they get called. The only diver we have is Nabokov, he is a pretty damn good diver, and he proved it last night.

Thank you. Thank you 1000 times. You guys definitely got jobbed on a call/two on Marleau and Heatley. I'll make that clear right now so I don't sound like a completely bitter homer and am trying to see things both ways. Yes I am a Red Wings fan, but Sunday's game was one of the worst officiated games I have seen in a long, long while in any sport. And you guys flopped like fish most of the game. I know you're a fan of them, but I'm sorry, they did.

in other words, you guys are hating the sharks for doing whatever it takes to win.

No. We are hating the referees for being absolutely incompetent. There is no agenda against the Red Wings to purposefully screw them, but we've seen our fair share of NHL officiating being incompetent in past playoff/regular season games. This was probably the worst game I have seen from them in a long while. I'd rather the Sharks beat us (and preferably by not diving over and over again), not the referees. The referees all but handed you all that game on Sunday.

That the officials were garbage and played had more of an effect than necessary in determining the outcome of the game.

That's neither here/there and it doesn't change the fact that I saw a lot more flopping around from the Sharks than the Red Wings.

Like I said before, we have had that happen to us before, where people like to dive like " perry, actually the whole ducks team. Or just the refs just sucked that game like the Torres hit on Michalek.

I'm a hockey fan at first more than a Sharks fan, don't know if that made sense or not. It was pretty bad, in game 2 for both sides. Yes, we flopped, but why should the Sharks stop flopping when the refs aren't going to call it? Keep doing it, until you get caught. WIth the Sharks flopping, its the refs fault for not catching it on game 1, and the Sharks will keep doing it until they call diving on us. Eh, I have seen a worse officated game before. Take a look back in basketball, Kings vs Lakers. Lakers get called to the line 24-26 times in the fourth quarter alone, while the kings only got sent there twice in the fourth quarter alone.

Should be a good game 3.

Yep.

As pitiful as I thought the Sharks were acting/playing with the diving around, why stop doing it if the referees are going to be incompetent and not prevent it either? I do believe in the "If you're not cheating you're not trying" deal to a certain degree, but I thought the Sharks went overboard with it. As angry as both the refs and the Sharks made me Sunday though, I don't blame them whatsoever for flopping more than once if it helped their cause.
