DirtyD 38 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) It'd be nice if the Pens had to at least try before the finals. Krejci hurt This was the first thing I thought when I heard about this, as well. While I do think that Boston is more than capable of beating the Pens with the way that both teams have performed thus far in the playoffs, eventually the injuries (first to Sturm, now to Kreicji) are going to be too much. I would say that a healthy Boston would probably have the upper hand over the Pens given their performance against two laughable Eastern Conference teams thus far, but the odds are starting to stack up against them. It must be nice not having to work too hard to win your conference. Nonetheless, I'll be rooting for Boston should the Wings fall to the Sharks because Savard, Lucic, and Chara are some of my favourite non-Wing players. Sprsquirt7 45 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 When i was a little kid I loved Ray Bourque and Cam Neely. Thus I was a bruins fan for those years before I became a redwings fan. I will be rooting for the bruins and regardless of injuries I still think that a hot goaltender can spoil any series, and Rask is a very good goalie with some momentum behind him. toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 The Pens would have to get by Montreal first. Don't think you can discount how much having Staal out of the line up hurts either. 2 redwingsgirlie and Wings_Fan_In_Exile reacted to this

How often do you flip/flop teams? Just kidding though, as a kid (in the 80s), I was an Oilers fan, for obvious reasons, didn't really have any real ties to any teams being from Nova Scotia (my dad has always been a Canadiens fan, which for some reason caused me to hate the Canadiens). I wasn't a Gretzky guy though, I liked Messier. I've been a Wings fan since the late 80s though, after I got a little older. Is a Pens victory over Montreal really in doubt? Well, they are only up 2-1....Washington was up 3-1 and lost. Also, they experienced the same troubles with them in game 3 as they did in game 2. It was tied 0-0 going into the 3rd. Fact is, they have only scored 2 non empty netters in the last 2 games. Tonight's game is in Montreal, if the Pens lose, the series is tied 2-2, not sure how you can't have some doubt. If the Pens win, you do have to like their chances going back home with a 3-1 lead though. Edit: glad they start at 7 and the Wings at 7:30, gives me a chance to catch some of that game before the Wings start and in between periods. Then again, Montreal does make the game pretty boring to watch. Edited May 6, 2010 by toby91_ca

acidroach420 25 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 I really like bostons chances against the pens just because of how good Rask has been playing in the post season. I cant imagine the bruins going away with out a fight, especially after the savard hit.
Manoir 70 Report post Posted May 6, 2010 So the last 4 series Pittsburgh has played; vs Det-Datsyuk out vs Ott-Michalek,Kovalev,and Kuba out vs Mtl-Markov out vs Bos(possible)-Krejci out and during this time the only major injury they had is Staal who was supposed to be out for the playoffs and now might be back this round. Plus, they won the lottery for a once in a lifetime chance to draft a guy like Crosby. That is some good luck they've had recently.
