Did he say that he is for sure returning next season!? If he did, I missed it. If he didn't, then it's awfully strange there's so little talk about it. It's quite possible that he'd chose to hang em' up after this great season of his...especially if Nick does as well (the two are neighbors)

I think they mean the lease at the Joe. There is talk that they will be back for another year, though.

As for Lids, I'm sure he owns his house.

As for the OP, I think Homer will be back, but I sure can see why people would speculate that he would retire with Lids.

I have heard nothing either way.
