Yesterday on the leafs lunch Bill waters and Darren Dregger had Ray Farraro on and he was talking Red Wings

audio file - Ray Ferraro - Thursday May 6th, 2010

Around the 5:30 seconds left in the interview point he was talking about Lidstrom and from everyone he has talked to he understands Lidstrom will be back and at significant salary drop.

Dosnt mean anything till the fat lady sings but gives me hope.

Didn't know where to put this, so...

Some guy named Kevin Lidström has been accepted into the hockey school of Västerås, starting this fall. Doesn't bode too well...

Not necessarily. Nick moved to Vasteras by himself at a similar age.

Can we sign him to a long term contract right now at league minimum for say 25 years???

Man oh man... Far reduced salaries? That would be fantastic. Can you imagine if Nick and Homer decide to play for a combined 5 million or so? We could possibly have the same team, plus Hudler, and have room to add another impact player. Things could be looking up for the Wings.

I wonder how long it'll take Lidstrom to announce his decision or announce a contract?

It seems that contract negotiations would be short, since Holland will obviously give Lidstrom whatever he wants. So I guess it's all up to Lids, let's hope he decides in the next two weeks or so.
