Thomas Plekanec(most likely not because hes emerged as a decent player)
Mathew lombardi(his speed is great and he has hands)
Raffi torres- Tough player, works pretty hard, he would be an upgrade to bert IMO, so if i had the choice i take raffi over him. But he has been injured quite a bit.
Maybe somehow if we snag one of those players, with hudler returning, we can be a dominate team.

Pavel datsyuk is the best player in the world because he snatches the puck from unsuspecting forwards, then dangles 2 defenceman, and follows it up by doing "the datsyuk" on his victims, then calmly skates back to his bench ,and goes home to his girlfriend back in the motherland.

Dump Lebda and Meech, and pick up Jack Johnson. (Though JJ has one more year under contract with LA)

Dump Williams, pick up Latendresse. (GL is an RFA)

I've seen a few people on here mention Johnson and I'm not really sure why. Granted I havn't seen much of him, but his numbers are certainly not encouraging.
Year GP G A P +/- PIM
2007-2008 Kings 74 3 8 11 -19 76
2008-2009 Kings 41 6 5 11 -18 46
2009-2010 Kings 80 8 28 36 -15 48
I realise the Kings are not the best Defensive team out there, and this would obviously contribute to his poor +/- but even so, is he really going to be what the wings need?
Like I said, I havn't seen him play much myself so perhaps the numbers are misleading. Can someone give me some upsides?
...if he's a feasible (affordable) replacement for meech and lebda then I guess we wouldn't be any worse off.
Thanks TeeMan!

Ugh, it's because he played at U of M, somehow that makes him a great player in the NHL.........NOT! He is big Height: 6-1 Weight: 225lbs, if you call that big, & young, but that is about all he has going for him. There are much better D out there to be had than Jack Johnson.

I think Lombardi would be a good pick up. He's so god damn fast, one of the few that might give Helm a run for his moneyLombardi & Torres would be good. Plek will be asking too much money + we don't need another playmaker.

i can't tell if you're joking

I definately dont want maltby back, hes not what he used to be.We don't need to sign any free agents.
Kirk Maltby is coming back healthy next year, so that's our free agent acquisition.![]()
Sorry, but that's what Holland always says at the trade deadline.
I definately dont want maltby back, hes not what he used to be. Somehow acquiring frolov would be great, or maybe even paul kariya somehow. All depends on what happens with Nick, bert, and holmer. We don't need to sign any free agents.

Anybody hear about Lidstrom's 16 year old son being accepted to a hockey school in Sweden?
Can't be good...

That just proves that it's not who you are, but who you know.
Holland may want to sign that kid just to keep Lidstrom happy.

Sign a longterm deal with Ilya Kovalchuk (people will say we aren't going to sign him)
He's 27 years old.
Sign him for 15 Years/ 75m
5m Cap Hit
Assuming the cap goes up 1m dollars from multiple sources...and
Lidstrom resigns for 3.5m/1 year deal...
Heres our roster:

Add/remove players as you wish (Lilja/Kindl)

Maybe Lidstrom wouldn't want his 16 year old son an ocean away from the rest of the family?
Guess it happens though, so who knows.
