Yzerman Declines Tampa

This is dumb. It shouldn't even be in question that Stevie might leave, Kenny needs to stop being selfish.

He gets in the league as a scout and eventually Nill agrees to become president and oversee Holland as GM. Yzerman turned this team around completely when Nill drafted him and was a life long wing. He's proven he's capable of building a team but Kenny refuses to do what another great GM(Nill) did for him.

Yeah you've done well Kenny but you gotta pay back your dues somewhere down the road.

You really want the best in the business to just step aside and hand things over to a virtual unknown GM commodity? Granted Yzerman was a great player but does that automatically equate to a great GM?

He's proven that he's capable of building a team. Really? Where? Are you talking about the Olympic team? Was there a salary cap to work with on any of those teams he 'built'....or even contracts to negotiate? I love Stevie, but with the list of players that he had at his disposal to choose from in 'building' that Olympic team, it would have been hard for anyone in that position with any hockey knowledge to fail.

I think it could serve him and the Wings well for him to get his feet wet in Tampa in a real GM setting with a real salary cap and real contracts to negotiate and not simply looking at a list of all stars and deciding which all star to choose over the other.
