If we didnt have to give up anything except picks, and its a cap dump for the Leafs, do you like it? Meaning do you think he could be an asset to the team? I agree that he could easily be a 50-60pt guy on the Wings because he is dying in Toronto.Given what Detroit would have to give up for this trade to go through - me no likey.
Rumor: Wings may swap for Kaberle

Money on the board-SCP 2013
I'm going with the 22 special. 2 bucks for every 22 goal. 2 bucks for every 22 fight
5 bucks for every series win....another 5 for every shut out! LETS GO RED WINGS!!
ADDENDUM: Since it looks like Toots may not reinserted in the series, I would like to offer Bert his money on the board. So, 2 bucks for every Bert fight, 2 bucks for every Bert goal AND since OT has been a pattern, I want to add 5 bucks for any RED WINGS OT winner. LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!

Sure but given that he's UFA after next season it's always going to be awkward unless Detroit only gives up very little. And the Leafs will most likely ask for prospects not just picks given that Detroit's picks aren't very high up the charts so to speak. If we didnt have to give up anything except picks, and its a cap dump for the Leafs, do you like it? Meaning do you think he could be an asset to the team? I agree that he could easily be a 50-60pt guy on the Wings because he is dying in Toronto.
But yeah if a deal could be made where Detroit wouldn't have to give up much then sure I'd like the guy. Not looking for someone who can replace Lidström just someone who can get the job done and Kaberle could be that guy.

His salary is 4.25. I believe there are some other good attacking defensmen in 4-5 scope, who could replace Nick.

I'd take him over rafalski, IF he could be traded
In a heartbeat. Maybe Burke wants to have another American defenceman on his team. Rafalski might waive to go play for team America in Toronto.
Old thread, but I would really love to see that.

Thanks TeeMan!

Yea if we got to trade rafalski for him we don't lose any of the more physical d-men

An excellent puck moving dman at an incredible price, what is there to complain about?
I thought he would be gone already , but it looks like Burkie is playing hard ball.

I just don't see it. We need a defensive defensman. He's great offensively, but he's the worst starting DMan on the Leafs, and second worst overal, just ahead of Lebda. No thanks.
Kaberle is third on the Leafs in blocked shots and fifth (second among defensemen) in takeways.
And this is without playing the PK because the Leafs need to have him out there for 4:29 of PP time per game.

Kaberle is like Mike Green without the offensive skills. No thanks. Especially for what he'll cost.
This. Not keen on Kabs either. Highly doubtful that he's on Kenny's radar...
