Fox 2 is a TV station in Detroit. Hammond is a sports reporter there.

I'm always a little leery of multi-year deals for guys over 35. But a longer contract should mean a lower average cap hit, so I'll trust Kenny with it.

Please, please don't be over 2 million...
The most popular choice among the Red Wings as to who would volunteer to play goalie – several Panthers did in their game – was Brendan Smith.

"He's pretty competitive and he seems to be good at everything," Justin Abdelkader said. "He'd volunteer himself."

Babcock was a bit more hesitant about Smith. "Yeah, yeah, just work on getting out of your zone," Babcock said

Great News! As long as it doesn't chew up too much of the Cap. I knew of the 4 guys in question, Holmstrom would be the most likely to re-sign. I wonder if Yzerman was eyeballing him up at all?

Nice, look forward to seeing what the cap hit is.

And 2 years is good, it might encourage Lids to stay another year past this as well.

According to Greg Brady, who works for AM640 in Toronto and is connected to the Maple Leafs says the deal is 2 years with a cap hit of $1.875 per year.

If True! What an Amazing Deal!!
