1. Mike Comrie won't sign that cheap.

2. Even if he did, he's not the kind of player I would want on "my team".

3. You forgot Draper.

4. Or conveniently made him disappear.

5. Despite all this talk about signing Asham, I think he's going to stay in Philly. I mean, unless it's for a bigger payday (which won't come from us), why leave a team you've gone this deep with--a team with which you have a solid role already established.

6. Even if he hit the FA market--after these playoffs--he'll get more than $1M from some team.

7. We need a veteran defenseman to compete with Kindl. If not Lilja, some other cheap veteran at least.

8. Lastly, how many FA-related threads have you created in the last 24 hours?

In addition, I don't see Abby taking a 100k pay cut. Eaves will also get a higher salary than 700k. Asham will likely stay with Philly or go elsewhere to make more money. He's shown that he can a third line role, so I think it's unlikely that he'll sign for 1m to play on a forth line anywhere.

In what parallel universe is Comrie going to play for 1.25 million?

If he signed for it on NHL 10 then it must happen in real life........

You guys do know he got $1.25 this season, right?

And it's not like he improved or anything. It's not an unrealistic number. I wouldn't want him anyway, but still.

He scored 13 goals and 27pts in 43 games for the Oilers. Last year he scored 10 goals and 21pts in 63 games for the Islanders/Sens. His goals, points and points per game increased thus his salary won't stay level or decline.

You mixed your points up.

13 goals, 8 assists, 21 points in 43 games this year: 0.30 gpg, 0.19 apg, 0.49 ppg

10 goals, 17 assists, 27 points in 63 games the year before: 0.16 gpg, 0.27 apg, 0.43 ppg

Goals up, assists down, points up slightly, but still not that great. He might still get a raise, but it's not unrealistic to think that he gets something similar again.
