I was thinking the same thing. For a guy who said money wasn't an object these negotiations are taking awhile.

Pierre Lebrun has reported that Todd Bertuzzi is close to re-signing with the Wings. He says it should happen within the next 24-48 hours...

ADDENDUM: Since it looks like Toots may not reinserted in the series, I would like to offer Bert his money on the board. So, 2 bucks for every Bert fight, 2 bucks for every Bert goal AND since OT has been a pattern, I want to add 5 bucks for any RED WINGS OT winner. LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!!

Maybe they are seeing what is the best figure to come to so we can also bring another good signing in. That's my best assessment of it and I know nada about contract negotiations but it seems logical.
