On Monday the Leafs will unveil a new/old look for their latest jersey change.

The team will revert back to the jersey worn during the "Gilmour Era" from 1992-1998.

At the same time, they will name Dion Phaneuf the new captain.

So I take it they're going back to this

I like this jersey; these past few years they wore what I felt looked like practice jerseys.

Now are you sure it's the earlier version above, or the gimmicky "TML" shoulder patch with silver lining :puke:

Definitely will be the maple leaf shoulder patch.

Will the Leafs ever wear the Ballard era sweaters in battle?

Those were the sweaters I became fond of when Wendel Clark, and the Maple Leafs officially became my #2 team.

I doubt they ever will, since it represents the darkest era in franchise era.

Meh... I'd rather they just went to the classic jersey worn in the 60's. The 90's jersey looks cool enough but you might as well go with the ones they actually won Cups wearing.

Given Phaneuf would have been captain as well, in Calgary, if Iginla weren't, this isn't much of a surprise to me. Some people see that he's human and has flaws in his defensive capabilities, but in all likelihood there's some locker room leadership we don't see.

As for the jersey, it's no worse or better than the previous one.
