On Monday the Leafs will unveil a new/old look for their latest jersey change.

The team will revert back to the jersey worn during the "Gilmour Era" from 1992-1998.

At the same time, they will name Dion Phaneuf the new captain.

Another step in the wrong direction yet again, they are masochists

Dion as Captain.

Once again the Leafs are making it harder and harder for me to pull for them as my fave team in the East.

I might have to jump on the Lightzerman bandwagon.

This isn't too far of a stretch. They brought him over from Calgary and immediately gave him the alternate.

If anybody can lead this band of legends its Phaneuf Posted Image

I like this jersey; these past few years they wore what I felt looked like practice jerseys.

Now are you sure it's the earlier version above, or the gimmicky "TML" shoulder patch with silver lining :puke:

I guess this means Kaberle isn't returning.
According to my profile, my reputation is excellent. LOL.

Will the Leafs ever wear the Ballard era sweaters in battle?

Those were the sweaters I became fond of when Wendel Clark, and the Maple Leafs officially became my #2 team.

I doubt they ever will, since it represents the darkest era in franchise era.

Good grief - Phanuef wearing the "C"? What exactly are they trying to accomplish with this move?
Can't wait to read the "Phoenix: I still think it's a hockey market" chapter of Gary Bettman's autobiography. I'm guessing it's going to be chapter 11.

Not really big on Phaneuf being captain, but who are their alternatives?

Oh they are changing their jerseys?

That's all they need to win the cup, watch out for them next season

Pavel datsyuk is the best player in the world because he snatches the puck from unsuspecting players and  follows it up by the simultaneous undressing of the defence pairing.  The end result is a calm skate back to his bench  where he can bask in the praise of his multiple girlfriends from the motherland.

Meh... I'd rather they just went to the classic jersey worn in the 60's. The 90's jersey looks cool enough but you might as well go with the ones they actually won Cups wearing.

Yawn, another MacK_Attack Maple Leafs update. I hear enough Leafs stuff on the radio and TV, I come to LGW to get away from all that!

I think there's a thread about the Hawks if you're looking for a change of pace.
