I seriously don't get this pick... he's projected as a 3rd line center...

Maybe they'll know talent like Kabanov is still available 2nd round.

Is this a future top6forward or another helm'ish 3rd grinder?

I am hearing he is along the mold of Abdelkader

So much for McIlraith, NY got a steal.

Exactly, I don't get it. We've got a surplus of defensive minded, low scoring forwards.

He is suppost to be like Jordan Staal, but without the goals??? WTF man. He better get that shooting percentage up if he is a Jordan Staal like guy...

Tootoo does NOT belong on this team. He is classless and I would rather see the Wings be bad than classless. I feel the same way about Bertuzzi as well, but he at least CAN make the team better. With Tootoo the team becomes worse and in danger of being classless. Would you have liked Claude on the team? Or Roy? No. So why would you be okay with that POS.

Maybe they'll convert him to defenseman like Ericsson.

he's project to be a shutdown third liner at the very least, obviously the wings see top 6 potential in him
You may not like tough hockey, but it's winning hockey.

Do we still trust in Ken Holland? There has got to be a method to his madness....

Let's leave the "expert" work up to Nill, Hakan, and Holland people... They obviously know what they're doing and you're all bickering like a bunch of 12 year old boys who just got grounded for looking at porn.

I'd much rather have a forward who can play both sides of the puck and has good size. He's still a kid and has the skills and talent, so now he just works on strength and let the coaches do the rest. Don't be too quick to judge just because you think some other guy "might" project big. We have more picks and we are notorious for late round gems. We have a solid group of guys both up and down and this just adds to that.

Exactly, we have alot lacking in two areas, size and top scoring prospects. We have a metric ton of role players. The biggest problem for us was last year is the only two forwards that filled that size and scoring level requirements were Johan who was injured and Bertuzzi who was a turnover machine.

a 19th pick may not necesarly get you both of those things, but at least this kid is not 5-10. We shall see about them in many years... though I would gladly put this guy in right now over Bertuzzi. At least we still have Tatar!

I still can't believe it... I hope this doesn't bite the team in the ass down the road.

Because some random dude says he'll project that way, you just jump on the bandwagon? Seriously, do some research and think for yourself.

Hockey's Future bio:

Talent Analysis
Sheahan is an excellent playmaker and scorer. His skating is effortless, and he has the size to comepte at the next level.

Future
Projects as a first liner, but is versatile enough to play any role.

A little more optimistic. :)

Ken Holland: Hes (Mursak) a young guy, provides energy, can skate, hes a puck hound.
