Eklund has lost his mind!

I just read he thinks the Caps are going to trade Semin for Broduer straight up, Broduer is still a great goalie but why would the Caps trade one of there best young forwards for a goalie that has 1 maybe 2 more years left. If this deal happens the Caps are making a big mistake

40G 44A in 73GP this season

34G 45A in 62GP last year

Here is the scenario as it appears to be starting to come together.

1. The Devils want to keep Kovalchuk.

2. Martin Brodeur is not a given to keep playing much longer, and will be hired the second he retires to work in the Devils front office.

3. Kovalchuk would consider staying if the Devils would go out and get Semin to play with him.

4. Brodeur would agree to play one (possibly 2) years in Washington. Firming up their goaltending situation and making the Caps the HUGE favorite to win a Stanley Cup. Then he could return to work for the Devils, who would be in a much better situation.

5. Semin is a great player, but the Caps are not opposed to moving him for Brodeur. Interestingly, the Caps signed him to a very short deal.

That's retarded. The Devils are as likely to trade Brodeur as the Wings are to trade Lidstrom.

Look at Eklunds Twitter. He is trying to argue that he was just gossiping about what is possible, and that gossip and rumors are the exact same thing. Silly Eklund...

THREE Stanley Cups

FOUR Vezinas

FOUR Jennings

one Calder

TWO Olympic Gold Medals

Are you kidding me?

The important point of that poster was at this point in his career. If you've watched the Devils recently in the playoffs, Brodeur has been quite bad.

TWO Olympic Gold Medals

I understood what you are trying to get at here but man, if he was in there for Canada at any point past the US domination of Canada, there would have only been 1. Still a great career and would hardly say chokes but this guy is on the very downside of his automatic HOF credentials.
